darkraver, 06 Sep 2014You are too demanding....as far as I m concerned z3c is a p... moreThe Aquos 303sh is 63mm wide got full HD, IP57 and 2Gb goes for $300 new. Find specs at the different tabs here:

But unfortunately does not exist in a European bands version.

So it is BY FAR anything very expensive to do. It is a matter of lacking WILL from the hardware providers. The last few years they have spun the crazy fairytale that bigger is always better, and unfortunately stick to it... And it seems that even Apple will buy into the same fairytale later this autumn.

And they use MUCH higher pixel densities on the huge QHD phablets, where it make less sense!
(The larger the device the further you will hold it, and the less density makes sense)
[Even people with good eyes can not see details smaller than 1/6000 of the viewing distance]

Eske Rahn, 06 Sep 2014That is EXACTLY the problem, no high end phones are offered... moreThere are 2 schools of thoughts

                            A)NEW THINKING
where you get the majority os the SAME specs in a "physically" smaller phone

Sony with the compact range may be the first offering that

                            B)TRADITIONAL THINKING
here you get the a scaled down version also LOSING some specs in a 'physically' smaller phone

In3 days time we will witness not so much a 'Back to the Future' but a 'Revisit the Past'

The 5.5" Iphone6 will have better specs than the 4.7
which is seem to be the currect trend, the S5 having much more than the S5 mini

Phablet imo are indeed a pain as there are in the vast low to midrange specs, and smaller phone under 5" are not keeping up with flagship so bigger diplay

The S5 mini is still an 8Mp like the S4 mini
Both the Z3 and Z3 compact have fixed in batteries so no spare and NO battery pull so NOT on my list

The biggest problem is if you have a traditional (under 5") phone will there be a phone you can upgrade to when you need to,or will they still have mediocre specs, and as price is now what phone makers are competing on, the only way to upgrade is to get a flagship

The lumia 830 is an upgrade to the 820 but not enough
                            http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6638&idPhone2=4968

it may be beeter than the 4.7" iphone which retains 8MP camera wow

                                Nokia Lumia is stylish

Eske Rahn, 06 Sep 2014That is EXACTLY the problem, no high end phones are offered... moreYou are too demanding....as far as I m concerned z3c is a perfect compact phone, there is that much you can design into a compact...maybe there was just no more room for 3gb unit. That or smaller battery...and they made a right choice, 2gb is enough
                                  Screen too...better battery life.
                                  So...perfect

All companies seems to agree that lesser size must be mediocre...
