To all those here, boasting of HTC One M8's 4 Ultrapixel Camera, I checked it out when I went to buy an Xperia Z (Back in August 2013), the salesman gave me both the phones & I zoomed in to click a banner on both the phones, can you believe, the image on HTC One M* Started pixelating at 1.5X zoom, like seriously?
and on Xperia Z I could zoom 8X and still get clear Text on the banner.
So thats why I believe we need good camera & not the crap Ultrapixel camera.. :)

The M8 would be a great phone with a decent camera. I just can't understand why HTC keep pushing that junk ultrapixel 4Mp thing, it is obviously far worse than the main competitors' cameras. I'd love to buy an updated M8 with a top quality camera!

If you have a 12-16 mpx phone (galaxy xx, xperia etc) you make a shot and without modifications you just upload to facebook with a 1-2 mpx resolution. 99% of phone shots are just uploaded to social sites without any crop or modification. I think Htc One's 4mpx is just enough for that, but you will win on the quality making photos in dim situations.
