Good to see my country (Bangladesh) is listed here. 2 years of OS support would be nice. Great step Google. Keep it up.

Razer, 15 Sep 2014How can u say like that man? Have u test xiaomi before? i o... morehaha shut up. MIUI is crap. miui is nothing but a cheap chinese bloatware. and xiaomi is totally rubbish in terms of update. they update their shitty miui to another useless version keeping the same Android 4.2 for years and years. how do you compare your redmi note's software update with the fastest release of android rolled out straight from google?? and I promise your redmi note will not be officially updated to android l. have a nice day brother.

Now that they've announced the entry level budget pure Android devices...it's time for the real deal. Bring on the Nexus X(6). I need a new phone...that new phone is hopefully the Nexus X(6) 5.2" or 5.5" even 5.9" screen depending on the screen to bezel ratio. Oh one other very important determinant of purchase will be a HUGE BATTERY, hopefully 3000+mAh.

these phonmes should be available on retailers rather than online because most of the middle class families do not shop online.

Google, this is a biiiiig +1. I love android one project. Now google should launch a project, for reasonable small smartphones. I hate nowadays' 4,5+ inches trend.

Now that's something - a reference design for low end android phones to run android operational system without performance issues.

Time to Samsung, LG and Motorola rethink they concept of low end phones, no more 512MB of RAM, old dual-core SoCs and tiny screens with abysmal resolution and quality for the same price of those Android One devices.

it is just the beggining! most probably this project will roll out globally. its the matter of when rather than if.

Android one is Good for the consumers. Because micromax, karbonn and other indian companies hardly give update to low end devices. Now with google one the low end devices will get update for 2 yr.

Android One is a brilliant initiative that should have been launched since the beginning of Android. Even now, it is strong enough to seriously boost the deployment of Android smartphones to the mass population, establishing an undefeated dominance. Most people agree that it would be a strong hit to Windows Phone platform, since low-cost devices will not be sufficient to gain percentage. People will be able to buy a more mature and feature-rich platform for the same or less money. I guess Android Silver will target iOS platform devices. Very exciting moments to live...
