Sony is terrible in India, except flagships all the other ranges of phones are released at premium prices with lower specs when compared to competition, custom service hired have unprofessional attitude, this is not covered that is not covered (display damaged due to rain on a waterproof phone IP58 not covered). Overall they paved the way for 1.2b loss.

      Sony Didn't deserved this :(

Its because they make a flagship every 6 months but it must be every 10 to 12 months to at least have a opportunity to make profit.

Both Apple and Sony upgrades operating system as much as they can (so your old phone still gets some new tricks). Other than these 2 brands, others don't have such reputation. I am afraid of buying a Z3 (as SONY might release Z4 6-7 months later and my Z3 would die with the old Android 4.4.4 etc.).
            Free upgrades are IMPORTANT!

It's simple.Sont making high end phones with nothing new in it, priced very high.. now atleast in India a large number of cheap & best phone makers working very hard & throwing the products like MI3, Redmi, one plus one, MotoX & Moto G.. there's a tough competition in pricing atleast

It's a sad day for Sony and Sony fans out there. It's not actually Sony's fault that consumers don't choose Sony but because the competition is really stiff. This has something to do with Samsung dominating Android and it's quite painful as Sony (who isn't into bashing) is doing a fine job producing premium phones.

I do hope they'll be back on black soon.

That was supposed to happen. Since Sony is selling mid range device at a premium prices in India. Features equal to Moto G and price equal to Nexus. Soon these losses are gona increase more and more until Sony prices its product right. And Sony should bring android one and windows devices as well

Sonys mid range phones are too expensive for the features they have. Competitors have better specifications in their handsets. Re-do the pricing and mid range phones will also sell.

Sony have in recent years been manufacturing excellent devices across all segments. The problem is that both customers and the high street sales teams that service them are more concerned about brand than quality. In their view Samsung and Apple are always held in greater esteem irrespective of whether their offerings are actually technologically superior to other marques. The position of Sony is rather surprising not least given its long expertise in the technology arena spanning well over half a century.

Sony should had made a Nexus device for midrange.

That's not a surprise anymore especially here in the Philippines. They're always late in releasing their flagship phones here and we're not even included in their SONY Ecosystem. Lastly, they have a very poor customer service.

Maybe it's because their flagships haven't been on the U.S. biggest carriers except T-Mobile. If they sold their phone through the "big 3" they would sell millions.

You know I've never seen a Sony phone and went 'that's cool'. I think they should give it up.
