They keep the best tech for themselves and sell last year's display tech to rival manufactures so as to cripple them. They clearly state this on Anandtech's review of the Moto X.

Phones are tested for their performance scores using phones with factory software. I admit samsuck sucks. But they make specced up hardware nonetheless. The software that comes with samsungs really slows the phone and drags it down. Android has a thing called ROMS, sorta like different versions of IOS, just usually highly modified respectively, that you can install to the phone to completely change the software it runs. That being said, far higher benchmarks and performance levels can be achieved with and Android phone with a modified ROM.
All that being said, the benchmarks reported for many android phones can be increased by quite a generous amount, with modified software.
iPhones have absolutely stunning benchmarks nonetheless

Apple have done well to sell 10 million phones in such a short space of time. What I don't understand is people fighting over phones and choice of the operating system- it's rather stupid and pointless and I don't think the companies care if you lot bicker amongst each other and try to prove your loyalty to them. At the end it's your personal preference- if someone wants complete integration of the hardware and software and a better app ecosystem they'll get themselves am iPhone. If someone values an open source operating system and customization they'll get Android and finally rebels who don't want to try the major players will get themselves a Windows Phone device. It's that simple.

People should stop comparing the iPhone to luxury German or Italian sport cars, you are insulting the cars. Luxury German cars like Merc, BMW and Audi are all made in Germany just like Ferrari in Italy and so on... iPhones are made in Chinese factories using the same Korean parts like all other phones, which makes them more of a KIA with a nice body kit on top.

I have seen people using iphone 4,4s,5s enjoying their phone no complain but in android you buy a phone soon it has issues and you're desperate for a new update. if android brings a smooth performance why eager for a rapid update. you buy android phone in June and in September there's a new update why it shows something is wrong with android. iphone 6 plus here I come

I wonder why is every iFans so proud of the sales number. Its not like the money is goin to your pocket. I still prefer HTC One, where Apple copied the design from. I certainly wouldn't be proud If I were one of the people who got the iPhone 6. And iOS is looking more like Android these days too.

apple also doesn't screw around when it comes to number like this. They won't lie as we know they recently announced that their tablet sale has fallen behind a year ago. They have a lot of investors, and they are not afraid to the tell the truth. oh yea, they don't announce how many phones they "ship" out unlike some company.
btw... i know ex apple employees. Their discount is 15% off the price, and are only allowed to make 3 purchases at that discount per year.
such an android fan in denial.... its sad....

5.5" isn't big, i've just received the Z Ultra, a mammoth 6.4" no problem holding it even with my small hands, and much better overall specs and display than either iphone 6.
