I can understand why the aluminium back would bend. But why did the glass bend? It is after all a brittle material.

Dear everyone,
This is why we didn't want to make a larger phone.
Sincerely,
Apple

Jovan, 24 Sep 2014Okay, now I really pity the 10 millions and counting early ... moreSo true! Wait in line for hours only to end up playing guinea pig to a design flaw. I'm surprised that Apple engineers didn't pick this up when testing there products. Here's hoping the Note 4, also made of aluminium doesn't bend that easily in our pockets.

Yes? Of course a larger object is easier to bend in a pocket. That is how physics works. (And large objects are also uncomfortable to have in a pocket... but that goes without saying.)

That's the new ihealth feature!!
When it bends too far back that the screen cracked it means you should start laying off the donuts.

I wonder why not a single person here has mentioned Nokia - the durable brand. I know Microsoft will make it even more durable. Go! Nokia Lumia 1520!

Okay, now I really pity the 10 millions and counting early adopters, if only they'd wait another year for iPhone 6S, by then Apple will most certainly have this problem fixed :) (joking, but not really, I really do pity all those people). Poor iPhone fans, they were so blinded by the slim smooth design of the phones. Well, I guess it's just another reason to not be so superficial when buying a phone. I'd recommend a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for those who haven't made the purchase just yet.

HTC One designers knew this could happen with an aluminum chassis. So, they designed it with a curved body. We all know arches distribute pressure evenly therefore holds up. Iphones are flat and wannabe thin. Or maybe users are sitting down wrong.
