Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will be a limited edition concept

24 September, 2014
The handset which comes with a bent screen won't be positioned as a mass-market device, it seems.

Dear Santa, is it too early to make my Christmas wish? I know I've been good (based on my own definition of "good") all I want for this Christmas is the edge, the Samsung Galaxy, nothing but the edge

I really liked it when watched on YouTube. I think this will overlap galaxy note series.

Too bad the Gear VR doesn't support the Edge as that is a necessary addon, which forces me to buy a Note 4 instead.

i don't think this will affect it too much, nobody in their right mind would buy an iphone 6+ over a note after seeing aqll the cases of it bending!! it may be a curved display but not the one we want

Technology is about moving things forward and the Edge is it, Note 4 is just too similar to the Note 3.

I want the edge and nothing but the edge... if I cant have it I might as well keep my note 3 for another year.

I think Samsung are making a big mistake! I'm a hardcore android user and have owned the note 2 and 3. I will not touch the note 4 waiting for the edge. I'm sure many high-end android users will do the same hurting the note 4 sales. If Samsung is note ready with the Edge, they should have not announced it in the first place. Big mistake

This might be a new generation for smart phones I like this mobile despite I have iphone I want to buy one of this models.
this is a bad policy for Samsung to spread this tech through the world they can defeat iphone6 if they change their policy to send the Edge sooner to all territories.

Samsung has production limits on curved displays...They know ...their production can't fulfill market demands...!So they are going for this 'limited edition' gimmick....!Bad strategies by samsung...!

It's a bad marketing decision not to release the Edge as soon as possible. It should not be delayed if they want to really compete with the IPhone 6 plus. I'm delaying purchasing a phone because I want the Edge. I've always had Iphones and want to switch to the Galaxy 5s or Note 4. I would like to be able to buy and extra battery and SD memory. Something the IPhone still lacks after all these years and updates. It's bad enough I'm losing my ITunes purchases the past few years but the delay and limited edition concept may just be a deal breaker and send me back to Apple. Apple has sold 10 millions phones in one weekend. If the Note 4 and Note 4 Edge were out already they wouldn't have sold half that many. Time is money. Fire your marketing department and compete with Apple now not next month.

I preordered the Note 4 and can't wait to receive it. I think I would like the Edge also. Great concept. It would definitely be an upgrade from the Note 3. But everyone is has right to their opinion.

TheNeighbor, 25 Sep 2014This Note 4 Edge should have been the ONLY Note 4 form fact... moreNope! I'd rather the narrower Note 4 with better battery, bigger screen, lower price and VR compatibility.

The Edge is a good option to test the market with a new concept but most people will prefer the Note 4.

Sammy dont want to risk money on the edge and thats a good strategy. Making it limited doesnt mean its really limited. They're checking it if it will have high demand and the results will determined the future distribution of the edge successors. Bent screen tech is new to the masses so sammy doesnt risk it.

dun get it, such a big company no balls to market it internationally...big companies should not have fear of failures and losing money...

I think its part of sammy's marketing strategy to make it limited as of today. They know its a first smartphone with a bent screen technology and to think if consumers will buy it or ignore it. Its an initial introduction to the bent screen tech. So if theres high demand sales then probably next year sammy will start supplying it as a mass market device.
