Besides, Microsoft is making money off of every Android phone made. As budgets get tighter, the common person will be looking for a balance of pricing, and capability. Once, Microsoft achieves their Universal Apps on all their devices, then things will get real for Apple, and Google. Microsoft FTW!

i was a big fan of windows after my first windows phone Lumia 800 and then Lumia 630 for my wife but my phone got damaged and i was looking for a better camera phone which come under 20k and my hope was Lumia 830 will be the best option which i can afford but last last week it released in India for 26K which was a disappointment for me and that was my end of love for windows phone .I bought a Android phone which comes under 11K and which give excellent low light images and good hardware.What i am trying to say that ,if they really wanted to grow the eccosystem they have reduce the price for Lumia series atleast in india.here peope are really smart and they looks for value for the money they spend.There is no space for phone like Lumia 830,Lumia 930 and phones like Samsung Galaxy s4 or S3 ,HTC one M8,Iphone 6 etc.These phone have to compete with Moto G,Moto x,Xiomi MI3 and XOLO which give same performance with half of their price.Only Windows fan boys are buying the phone like Lumia 630,525,720 etc which are inferior to other Andorid Phone. yesterday I was trying to book Movie ticket through Phone App(BookMyShow) I was not even able to select the theater in my Lumia 630 after trying it for 10 minutes where as, the whole process was completed with in 5 minutes in my Android budget phone(in Same Wi-fi network).The quality of application in windows phone really sucks and consumer dont care whether its a problem with app or phone they want immediate result.

Plus Android 5 and Android One is around the corner as well. The last six months were a golden window of opportunity for Windows phone, although in the end it gained nothing much. It gets very tough from here.

their goal is to increase sales of their iphones every year, because they know they will not catch android.

Apple releases its phones only in the 4th quarter... so its sales would be mainly in the 4th and 1st quarters

So it's not the question for affordability. It's the question for simple thinking that do you really want to pay so much for this phone whose manufacturing cost is not that much?. Windows are much better and cheap.

Since cheap Android phones are becoming the new feature phones, no wonder.
Most of the cheap Androids are sold to people who can't really afford an iPhone, or often a higher end Android, but can afford to buy 100 euro Android of poor quality, but still better than their old flip phone.
The Honda Super Cub is cheap and is the best selling vehicle in the history of the world, but that doesn't make it better than a Tesla.

A lots of my friends was using Window and go back to Android because window OS is lame Xbox music and video is know good and can't find a good music app in the store hi my self is going back to Android Huawei Ascend G620s

Windows Phone just added 50+ OEMs since going free couple months ago. Marketshare will only go up and will take off with Windows 10 sharing same App Store on all Windows devices.

So, even if Apple likes to quote big numbers for the bookings/sales, it doesn't mean that the market share is increasing. Their market share figures are either diminishing or stagnating in most places.
Its a different matter however that Apple makes a lot more profit by selling less than $200 worth of hardware at more than 4 times the value. And for those who like to throw the "R&D costs" card, their entire R&D expenditure is shy of 3%. That's right, Most of the R&D and innovations for display tech, manufacturing processes and other stuff happen at companies like LG or Samsung and others from which Apple sources the components. Its the common sense lacking Apple fan base that are responsible for Apples massive margins and while these folk love to chide or ridicule other brands, these companies have the last laugh because every time somebody mindlessly buys an iPhone year after year, they are also paying their money to the companies that they love to ridicule

Its interesting how the mobile news world works right now. Basically there are two camps, the very pro Apple and the not so pro Apple / neutral.
Whenever an "unfavourable to Apple" news article is put into circulation, the pro Apple camp ignores the negatives and tries to squeeze out whatever positive they find. In this particular case, they focus on the fact that the iPhone 5c was the top selling phone in the UK despite the looming release of iPhone 6. This is the headline the pro Apple press have made of this news.
We need more like gsmarena, neutral as not wined and dined by Apple etc.
