Not exactly Microsoft and Apple have cross patents. Nokia is owned by Microsoft which saved them. Sony Ericsson became part of Sony fully and in turn protected with patents. HTC couldn't go against Apple and started to pay a licence after being bullied. Samsung is the only company that has not yielded.... Yet.
Apple got away with not paying for a 3g licence as the court ruled as an essential standard while other companies paid. In all fairness all the technology giants are just as bad as each other. Also I heard they are going to do something about these software patents as they are to easy to obtain and the courts can't keep up and no nothing about them. Anyway didn't Apple drop all cases against Samsung and in turn they did.
This dispute is about a contract agreement which Samsung is refusing to pay any more since they believe Microsoft breached it then buying Nokia. So it's not they can't afford it but they believe the contract is now nullified. Time will tell.

What samsung has been sued for, other companies sued for similar problems. Samsung has infringed on other companies and they do not hesitate to take whatever patent they want.
You can sue Samsung, they will fight to the death, they finally lose, the appeal, lose again, appeal
lose again, appeal, and lose again, until the company is suing gives up. That is Samsung's dirty tactics.
Although the big story is Apple has sued Samsung, other big name companies that took

Sony Ericcson
Microsoft

you guys like to say apple is the devil here, they are suing everyone... they've only actually Samsung and pretty much no one else, mean while Samsung is running around stealing patents.

After looking it over some more some of the information I read appears to be dated with more current times painting a better picture more so from 2012-14 where profit wise it started to take over from TV’s and entertainment systems.
It has never been worded as to which of their divisions exactly is the smallest or the biggest only you can only go by employee count and revenue they have also shifted over to the Samsung electronics umbrella which makes it more messy. Some of the information i have read before does appear to be somewhat outdated since they jump massively year over year this is the most current one i have came across which is 2012-13 which paints them as a bigger portion of the electronics section.

Stupidest comment of 2014, do you know how big Samsung is, i bet at least half of your house electronics has been built by Samsung and you don't even know it. They are in every single market and are over 53 companies big have 3 CEO's as it's to much for one to run they build everything from microprocessors to weapons to MRI scanners to jet engines. They will not die anytime soon even if they left the mobile phone market which is their smallest division and at present they rule that market too.
Infact current estimates is that Samsung makes 327 billion dollars a year

Recently I've read somewhere that Samsung will going to change standart office software to microsoft office at all Samsung's bussiness offices and fabs.
They saying it will cost very big and the deal recently settled.
Very interesting things happens in the world, between these industry/tech giants.
Same story with sammy and apple, apple and microsoft, htc and nokia etc...
But fans, they are real warriors...
Defending their favorite companies like hell, till the last breath while that companies having group *** each other.
They really don't care all kind of fanboys, its all good if they (fannies) continuously buy their products...

Check the OpenGL scores in the article. The Galaxy Note 4 graphics performance is worse than the Galaxy Note 3, you impressed with that?
