AnonD-318966, 17 Oct 2014Well that kinda was the case with Samsung Galaxy S1. A lot ... moreThe real IGNORANCE is that when you buy a product that u know it will not give u satisfaction in the long run, it will only give u joy for a short period of time, like android yes it works fine for a couple of month, 3-5 months maybe and it did not even reached a year the phone is no lnger give the same performance the day u purchased it. Im an android user before. I admit im a fan of android before and I hate apple because of the price and thingking it is the same smart phone. By the time my android phone give me a lot of problem due to its laggyness I decided to buy iPhon since my friends almost of them are using iPhone. I realize that my money is worth buying the iPhone since it satisfies me a lot, no lags no virus it is very smooth and the phone is very nice in the hand. So now I won't buy any android phone anymore. Anyway my iPhone 4s is already 2 and a half yrs old but its still working fine very smooth no lags at all. Now currently waiting for my iPhone 6.

Proprietary lock to protect Apple's interests so you can't universally switch between Apple and non-Apple devices.

AnonD-183154, 17 Oct 2014I got a feeling Android users cannot read. The iPad can ... moreI think the headline didn't help. As I said earlier "proprietary" isn't really the right term for this, maybe "generic" would be better (if still wrong)?

Basically it seems to be a case of "rush to voice outrage" taking precedent over "reading the article." Apple is a popular irrational hate figure, remember.

I got a feeling Android users cannot read.

The iPad can use regular Nano SIMs. Apple just included the next generation SIM with the iPad that you no longer needs to swap out when changing carrier. If you are dumb, you can still take out the Apple SIM and swap to an old style SIM from the carrier.

In a year or two Android phones will quietly adapt Apple SIM and pretend they have it all along just like they adapted Nano SIM.

Apple pushed Nano SIM and finally when Android is using Nano SIM Apple bring out the next generation SIM. Apple is way ahead of Android.

You must have some kind of special version of iPhone 4S then. Every detailed review I've read clearly stated that iOS 8 on iPhone 4S was a bad idea, and that it slowed down the device quite significantly.

People without tech knowledge don't understand the difference between an iPhone and an Android phone, so they end up buying Apple products because of the fame.

These are also the people that don't know the difference between Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. Sometimes, if they don't see the old XP interface, they'll think it's not Windows.
Or the worst case I sometimes deal with, if these people want to know if a PC is good, they will ask: "What Pentium is it?".

So yeah, Apple can keep its "iSheeple". I'm sure that Tim Cook and Steve Jobs is/was proud to know that they depend on the ignorance of their fan base.

Now some iSheeps will go and iPad mini 3 when they can buy iPad mini 2 with exact same specs minus the fingerprint scanner for a cheaper price. They buy Apple products just because Apple logo is on them. I bet you can sell them a Samsung Galaxy S5 with an Apple logo instead of Samsung logo and tell them it is Apple's new product.

GSMArena said "Curiously, the Cupertino giant made no mention of the innovative solution during today’s announcement of the tablets."

                                      because, it's not innovation.
the Chinese has been doing it for ages.
the single SIM Card with multiple numbers in it is nothing's new in East Asia.

true, Apple might be the first one that brought it to the western world, but it's just an old technology in East Asia.
that's the reason why they can't claimed it as "innovative solution"

I'm not a big apple fan but this is the the most original move I've seen in the mobile industry for the last few years. If it dilutes the power of the carriers then I applaud it.
                                        Risky tho.
The carriers didn't like Nokia's offline maps, look what happened.
