Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 and V Flip 2 leak in hands-on photos, prices revealed

Peter, 09 September 2024

A few weeks ago Tecno’s division in Ghana messed up and published some pre-order details for the company’s upcoming foldables ahead of schedule. That post was quickly deleted and there are still no official details on when the two phones will be unveiled. But unofficially, you can have a peek at their revamped designs thanks to this leak.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 (model number AE10) will be powered by the Dimensity 9000+ paired with 12GB of RAM, as revealed by a Geekbench run. The inner display will have a resolution of 2,000 x 2,296px, the same as the original V Fold. The battery will be larger at 5,610mAh (up from 5,000mAh).

The Phantom V Fold 2 is rumored to cost GHS 16,550 for a 12/512GB unit. This converts to $1,055/€955/£810/₹88,500.

The Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 will look noticeably different from its predecessor – the circular cover display will be replaced by a more traditional rectangular display. Unfortunately, it’s not powered on in these photos, so we can’t see its size and shape, but based on FCC schematics, it will cover the back from side to side and the two camera lenses will be punch-holed into it. This model is also getting a larger battery, 4,490mAh (up from 4,000mAh) and faster 70W charging (up from 45W).

The model number for the Phantom V Flip 2 is AE11 and it will be powered by the Dimensity 8050. An 8/256GB unit is said to have a price tag of GHS 9,800, which converts to $625/€565/£480/₹52,500.

Well i can understand that. Still foldables are no for me for as long as the main screen braks on mohs pick 2-3.

Very uninteresting. Since it still uses an old chipset, at least it should use the Dimensity 9200+

It really shouldn't costed more than 1k tbh but considering they are using the newest Dinensity, i can sort of understand, i am still not converted enough to consider buying this when other better competitors are around
