Moto G 2025 and Moto G Power 2025 are now official

Motorola has refreshed its most popular mid-rangers in North America for 2025. Meet the Moto G 2025 and Moto G Power 2025.

The new Moto G has a 6.7" screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, 1,000-nit peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 on top, 5G support, a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP macro camera, a 16 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging. It's powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 SoC.

Moto G 2025 and Moto G Power 2025 are now official

The Moto G 2025 has a "water-repellent design" and a vegan leather finish. It runs Android 15. It will become available in the US unlocked at Motorola, Amazon, and Best Buy on January 30 for a recommended price of $199.99. You will also find it at practically all carriers.

The Moto G Power 2025 has a 6.8-inch screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, 1,000-nit peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 on top, a 50 MP main camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide, as well as a macro camera, a 16 MP selfie shooter, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30W wired and 15W wireless charging.

It's IP68 and IP69 certified for dust and water resistance, as well as MIL-STD-810H certified for enduring falls from "nearly four feet", temperatures from -4°F to 140°F, and high humidity levels up to 95%. This one also runs Android 15.

The Moto G Power 2025 will become available in the US on February 6 for $299.99 from the same retailers. It will also be available at most carriers "in the coming months". In Canada, both devices will arrive at "select carriers and national retailers" on May 2 for a yet-undisclosed price.

Can anyone confirm this phone's max brightness? I've heard it's 1000 nits. Is that a deal-breaker for everyday indoor use? I'm used to phones w 2000-2500 nits....

Great job Motorola, but how many OS updates will we be getting? Samsung A16 5G is getting 6 Android OS updates, so you better get on board and stop being so lax on this.
