One UI 7 software for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE now available in the Remote Test Lab

Peter, 29 January 2025

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE owners are still waiting for the One UI 7 update, but now there is a way for the really curious to check out the new software. It’s a roundabout solution that involves the Remote Test Lab (RTL).

RTL is intended to allow app developers to remotely connect to a real device and test out their app – this way they can test on all Galaxy devices, without having to buy them, which is great for small devs.

You don’t have to be a developer, you just need a Samsung account and you can take One UI 7 out for a spin. Keep in mind that this is just a virtual test and not a way to update your phone. Still, you can get a feel for the new OS, most of it, anyway.

People on the r/OneUI subreddit are reporting that some features aren’t available – Audio Eraser and Now Brief aren’t working, the Now Bar settings aren’t available either.

The important takeaway is that the firmware is close to finished, if not already done (it’s showing the January 1 security patch, which is the latest we can expect at this time). That said, Samsung still hasn’t released a roadmap for the One UI 7 rollout, so some patience will be required.

Other companies aren't just using stock Android yet they could deliver the update months before Samsung, so stop this.
