iPhone 17's design to be very different from the iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro

Vlad, 18 February 2025

Earlier today some renders popped up purportedly showing the upcoming iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro, each featuring its very own distinctive camera island design. The Air with its single rear camera has a visor reminiscent of past Google Pixels, while the iPhone 17 Pro takes inspiration from the Poco X6 and Poco X6 Pro.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max will be just a magnified version of the Pro, we assume, but what about the vanilla iPhone 17 model? Well, here's some intriguing news on that topic: apparently the iPhone 17 will look exactly like the iPhone 16. No camera visor-style island, no Poco-style island, nothing of the sort, just a rehash of a design that's already been used by Apple for quite a while.

This, again. This, again.

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt since it's only an unconfirmed rumor at this point, but, for what it's worth, the information does come from the same source who brought us the first look at the iPhone 17 Air's design.

While the iPhone 17 may not get any new looks, it will at least have a 120 Hz refresh rate screen, according to one previous rumor.
