Samsung to redesign the S Pen for the Galaxy Z Fold7

Ro, 22 February 2025

With the Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen losing some features this year, the rumor about the upcoming S Pen update for the Galaxy Z Fold7 sounds rather reassuring. Or at least we believe so.

According to a new report on X, Samsung is planning to redesign the S Pen for the Z Fold7, making it slightly thicker. Now, the question is whether Samsung is making it thicker for the sake of ergonomics and usability or plans to add new features, and the hardware needs more space.

Unlike the Galaxy S Ultras, the Z Folds don't have a holster for the S Pen and you have to buy it separately with an appropriate case that can hold it. This, in return, means Samsung has the freedom to make the S Pen bulkier, and it won't affect the Z Fold7's internal design.

We remain hopeful that Samsung will keep the Bluetooth and Air Actions functionalities.

They gonna sell it as a separate accessory like apple for more $$$$. Samsung always copy it's master.

It is not unlikely they'll ditch the built in option. Flagships around 4-6mm will probably be the new mormal once solid state batteries goes mainstream.

I bet the S26 or S27 Ultra ditches the S-pen altogether
