Xiaomi 15 Ultra officially showcased, camera specs also revealed
In just two days, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will launch in China. To hype up the fans, the company previewed the flagship on social media. We get to see the three color options that were expected, and learn about the new features of the camera setup.
Xiaomi's upcoming Ultra model will feature a 200 MP telephoto lens. It includes the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor, which measures 1/1.4" and is designed to offer clear zoom to 200 mm and even 400 mm.
Glare presents a significant challenge for long telephoto cameras, which Xiaomi aims to address using a specially designed 24-layer ultra-low reflection glass. This glass features a unique coating that reduces reflectivity to only 1.5%.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera features
The glass is positioned over the entire camera island to enhance light transmission and boost low-light photography. Additionally, the coating serves as a protective layer, ensuring 82% improved resistance against scratches.
We learned that the main shooter will again feature a 1"-type sensor, which isn't surprising, as this has been a key characteristic since the launch of the 12S Ultra nearly three years ago.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to launch in China on February 27. A global debut will follow on March 2 at MWC Barcelona. We'll naturally report with the full details once they are available.

If Samsung makes a 1/1.95"-type version of the JN5, and the Xiaomi 16 Ultra uses that for its ultrawide, it would be perfect. Doubly so if they also use a version of that version made specifically for telephotos, pairing it with a periscope lens...
