The oldest supported iPhones on the list are the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max which launched six years ago, back in September of 2018. As long as you have an iPhone launched in 2018 or later, you will see the big new update inside your settings. As usual, the update may take some time to appear on your device as it is seeding to millions of users at the same time. You can head to Settings -> General -> Software Update and check if the iOS 18 update is available.

By the way, you don’t need to update your device to iOS 18 if you only care about security patches. Apple will continue to seed the latest security updates to devices on iOS 17.7 which is also launching today.

Also worth mentioning, Apple Intelligence will not be part of iOS 18. It will make its way with iOS 18.1 sometime next month with the exact date TBA. That’s for the US, if you are in the EU or China, don’t expect to get those AI features on your iPhone any time soon.
