Weekly poll results: the Oppo Reno13 series faces an uphill battle to win over consumers

Oppo may want to reconsider its twice-a-year release strategy for the Reno series as things are getting overcrowded. Are the Reno13 models better than their Reno12 counterparts? In some ways yes, in others no.

The end result is that most people who voted in last week’s poll are looking at other mid-rangers. When did the Renos become mid-rangers, anyway? The Reno11 Pro (in China) had a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Reno12 Pro (China) had a Dimensity 9200+ and now the Reno13 Pro gets only a Dimensity 8350.

The Oppo Reno13 Pro in its configuration for the Chinese market holds some potential, especially if it reviews well. As you will see in the next chart, the Pro is the preferred model of the two, despite having the same chipset as the vanilla model.

The vanilla Oppo Reno13 faces more of an uphill battle. Again, these are the models for China – we haven’t seen the global hardware yet. Usually, the global hardware is a downgrade compared to the Chinese model, so things could look even more dire for the Reno13 series.

Oppo hasn’t offered any updates on the global launch yet. The Reno12 series launched in May 2024 in China and the global variants followed in June. So, end of December or early January are the likely targets for the global Reno13.

Couldn't agree more. It's made worse by the fact that usernames are shown when you highlight the emojis, so you know the people who reacted. They should've went with a simple upvote/downvote system like pretty much every other website.

They can use previous gen flagship chipsets on their reno series. Like what they did with their Reno 10 pro plus (global). Sadly after that, it went downhill with inferior chipsets being released with succeeding releases.
