New Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+ arrive in Europe with 200MP cameras and curved displays

Peter, 10 January 2025

Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 14 series in China in late September, then brought (mostly) the same models to India in December. Now the company is launching a completely different set of Redmi Note 14 phones that will be available in the European market. There are five new models this time, not just three, here we will cover the Pros. You can read up on the vanilla models in another article.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, which promises a small performance boost over the Dimensity 7200 Ultra that the 13 Pro+ used. The phone will be available in several configurations starting at 8/256GB. The top-specced model has 12GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 512GB storage (UFS 2.2).

The display is similar to the previous model – a curved 6.67” OLED panel with 1,220 x 2,712px resolution. It renders 12-bit colors with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. It can reach 3,000 nits (up from 1,800 nits) and uses 1,920Hz PWM dimming. One upgrade this generation is the move to Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The back uses either Gorilla Glass 7i (Frost Blue and

Midnight Black) or vegan leather (Lavender Purple), depending on which color you pick.

Like last year, Xiaomi equipped the Pro+ with a 200MP camera – the 1/1.4” sensor uses 16-in-1 pixel binning and can offer lossless 2x and 4x zoom (and it is optically stabilized, which will help at 4x). The ultra-wide camera remains at 8MP and there is a 2MP macro module on board.

The selfie camera did get an upgrade to a 20MP sensor and a wider lens (Xiaomi advertises it as 0.8x). The Dual Video feature allows you to record with the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

The new model has a slightly larger battery than before with 5,110mAh capacity (up from 5,000mAh). Once again, the Pro+ has exclusive access to 120W fast charging – a 120W charger will be included in some (but not all) regions.

The regular Pro model comes in two flavors: 4G and 5G. They use different chipsets, of course, Helio G100 Ultra and Dimensity 7300 Ultra, respectively. That’s not the only difference, however.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is more like the Pro+. It uses the same curved 6.67” 1220p+ display with the same 20MP selfie camera. The IP68 rating is the same too. The 5,110mAh battery has the same capacity, though it only supports 45W charging (a 45W charger will be included in some regions).

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G also has a curved 6.67” OLED display, though this one has a lower resolution of 1,080 x 2,400px. It still uses Victus 2 glass, but the phone is only rated IP64 for protection against splashes and not immersion. Note that the display has 10-bit colors and lacks Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. Its peak brightness is lower too, reaching only 1,800 nits.

The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor with the same wider 0.8x lens (Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the exact focal length). Also, the charging is the same at 45W (with an included charger in some regions), but the battery has a higher 5,500mAh capacity.

The important thing is that both Pro models have the same rear camera setup as the Pro+: 200MP main (1/1.4”, 16-in-1 binning, OIS), 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro.

The two Pros and the Pro+ have dual-SIM slots. However, the two 5G models also have an eSIM on board, the Pro 4G does not. On the flip side, the Pro 4G is the only one that has a microSD slot (it’s a hybrid slot, so you have to choose between extra memory and a second phone line).

Okay, now that we’ve covered the similarities and differences between the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and the two Redmi Note 14 Pro models, it’s time to look at the prices, which we’ve summarized in the table below:

Model 8/256GB 12/512GB
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G €300/£250 -
Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G €400/£300 -
Redmi Note 14 Pro+ €500/£400 €550/£450

Why in they lauched it with 50mp main camera and 50Mp telephoto lens and 8mp ultra wide. Main camera must be 200Mp. Xiaomi making us fool in india.

Disappointed, it become 13pro+ v2. I hoped to get same Chinese one but with upgrade for charging 120W with same 6200mAh battery and same camera setup but with extra resolution 200m but same lens and telephoto. Useless to upgrade as no real upg...
