Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge's back panel will be different
Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge at its Unpacked event last month, and various rumors have claimed the device would launch around April. Ahead of that, today a new report tells us what to expect from it in terms of materials used.
The frame will be aluminum, apparently, which isn't that much of a surprise, but the back won't be glass. It won't be plastic either. Instead, it will allegedly be ceramic, "for better durability".

That's interesting because while ceramic is much more scratch resistant than glass, it's also more brittle. And heavier. That said, it's unclear if Samsung will outright use ceramic, or glass infused with ceramic speckles inside of it.
We're leaning towards the latter since the Edge has been rumored to be quite light, and ceramic definitely isn't. The point of today's report, convoluted as it may be, is to say that the S25 Edge won't have Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on its back like the S25 and S25+.
The Edge is now rumored to be 5.84mm thick, and it will come with two rear cameras (200 MP main, 12 MP ultrawide), a front that's indistinguishable from the S25+ (and a similar, if not identical screen size to that model), and a laughably small 3,900 mAh battery. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will be at the helm and the Edge will of course launch running Android 15 with One UI 7 on top.

"Samsung FLAGSHIP and Samsung Entry Level are NOT Android 12 O.K." Well, they aren't on Android 15 either, except for the newest S25 series and the A06 5G. Almost all 1-3 year old chinese flagships are already on Android 15. What ...

The camera housing doesn't sit well with me, it just doesn't look fashionable for a phone that's focused on design.
