vivo Y29 gets a 4G version with a bigger battery
The vivo Y29 was announced in the final days of 2024 with a 5G chipset and a 5,500 mAh battery. Now the phone gets a second version with an LTE-only chip and a bigger cell that's already on sale Bangladesh.

The vivo Y29 4G keeps the 6.68" LCD with a 720p resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a Schott protective glass on top, and the company claimed it increases drop resistance by 64%, compared to a last-gen cover glass.
The SoC is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 because Bangladesh has yet to adopt 5G networks. It makes no sense to bring a next-generation connectivity smartphone if you can't use it to its full potential. Memory-wise, the vivo Y29 4G comes in three combinations: 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB.

There is a big camera island on the back, which houses a 50 MP main shooter, a 2 MP auxiliary snapper for bokeh effects, a dynamic color light, an LED flash, and an IR blaster, sitting in the top right corner.
The selfie camera sits inside a punch hole and comes with an 8 MP sensor.

The vivo Y29 4G is heavily advertised for its durability. It has advanced cushioning protection and even military-grade certification for drop resistance MIL-STD-810H.
It is also IP64-certified for water and dust resistance, and vivo claims it will maintain smooth experience for up to 50 months (perhaps indicating the length of its software support).

The vivo Y29 4G ships with Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15 on top and comes with some AI features for photo editing and a stronger wireless signal. It also comes with Circle to Search, a feature that was reserved for premium devices just a few months ago.
The battery has 6,500 mAh capacity and 44W wired charging support. The vivo Y29 4G lacks features like NFC, FM radio, a 3.5 mm audio jack or any sort of wireless charging.
There are two colors of the phone – Noble Brown and Elegant White. The starting price in Bangladesh is BDT 19,999, which is about $165. Users can pre-order the phone with a BDT 1,000 upfront payment, and the rest can be paid at the market launch date, which is February 24.

They could've used a Unisoc chipset, and still it would've been better in all aspects.
