Two high-end Huawei MateBooks to launch in early 2017

Vlad, 20 October 2016

This year Huawei announced its first ever MateBook 2-in-1 tablet / laptop hybrid, but it looks like the Chinese company isn't going to stop there. According to a new report out of China, the MateBook we all know was just the beginning.

Huawei will apparently launch two additional "high-end" MateBook devices towards the end of the first quarter of 2017, which we assume means in March. Unlike the original MateBook, these two will use Intel Core i-series processors, thus being much more powerful than the currently available tablet sporting a Core M part.

That said, in terms of size neither will be the original MateBook's successor. While that model has a 12-inch screen, the upcoming devices will both be bigger. One will have a 13.3-inch panel, and the other will come with a 15.6-inch display, turning the MateBook into a proper line of tablet / laptop hybrids with three distinct members.

I prefer Surface Pro 4 except for the fact that the display is a little small. 13" and 15" are more ideal so will be checking out the Huaweis unless Microsoft offer something bigger with Surface Pro 5.
