Gear S3 gets support for Samsung Pay; service hits the UK on May 16

Himanshu, 02 May 2017

Samsung's mobile payments service - Samsung Pay - has been launched for the Gear S3 smartwatch. The announcement was made by the tech giant today, but currently only Gear S3 users in Samsung's home country can use the service.

As you might have guessed, with Samsung Pay support for the Gear S3, you will just have to bring your watch near to the payment terminal and there was no need to take your phone out of your pocket.

The service currently supports Samsung, Hyundai, Lotte or Hana credit cards, with support for KB Kookmin cards coming soon.

In a related news, Samsung Pay's UK launch is set for May 16. The information comes courtesy of the company's customer care representatives.

Keep in mind that information provided by reps can be inaccurate, although given that in this case multiple Samsung reps have matching predictions, it's likely true.
