Sony Xperia XZ Premium is now on pre-order in the US for $799.99 unlocked

Vlad, 12 June 2017

Today Best Buy has started taking pre-orders for the unlocked Sony Xperia XZ Premium smartphone, just as expected. The Japanese company's latest flagship device can be yours for $799.99, and the retailer is offering it in three color versions: Deepsea Black, Luminous Chrome, and Bronze Pink.

If you pre-order, you should expect the device to reach your doorstep by June 19. Alternatively you can opt for in-store pickup, in which case it should be at your nearest Best Buy location by June 18.

As usual when it comes to Sony handsets sold in the US, this one comes without a usable fingerprint sensor out of the box too. A few months ago we found out that the unlikely explanation for this situation might be that the company is legally required to disable the fingerprint scanners for its US phones, believe it or not. So if you want biometric security in your smartphone, you're probably not going to buy the Xperia XZ Premium.
