O2 UK now taking pre-orders for the OnePlus 5, post and pre-paid plans available

Peter, 21 June 2017

O2 UK staked its claim early on that it will carry the OnePlus 5 and now it has published shipping and pricing details.

The new flagship – available in both Midnight Black and Slate Grey – will ship on June 22. The first color option comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the Grey units come in 6GB/64GB.

The recommended contract costs £10 upfront and then £34/£36 a month for two years depending on which version you choose. That gets you 500MB of 4G data with unlimited calls and texts. If you pay £90 upfront, then the same plan comes with 1GB of data. Hit the source link for the complete list of available options.

Pay as you go (aka pre-paid) plans are only available for the Midnight Black 128GB units, starting with a £10 top up for 250 minutes, 1,000 texts and 500MB data, going all the way up to 3,000 minutes, 4,000 texts and 20GB data with a £30 top up. A short promo (ends June 28) will give you a few pounds of free credit over five months.

500MB plans in 2017? ... I can barely extend the 10GB plan to the full month how can someone manage with 16.5 Megabytes a day?
