Amazon Prime Music launched in India

Prasad, 28 February 2018

After doing a soft launch last year with Echo, Amazon has now properly launched its Prime Music service in India. The service, which was earlier limited to the Echo devices, will now also be available on iOS, Android, desktop, Fire TV Stick and the Amazon website.

The service includes millions of songs across 10 Indian languages. The mobile apps also include support for Alexa, so instead of typing you can just tell Alexa which song you want to play, although this only works within the app. Users will also be able to download as many songs as they want to play locally within the Prime app.

Prime Music is part of the Amazon Prime subscription, which includes fast shipping and also Amazon's Prime Video service. If you haven't subscribed to it yet, it's INR 999 ($15) for a year.
