Samsung investigating Galaxy S9 touch screen problems

Himanshu, 23 March 2018

Samsung has issued an official statement saying the company is looking into reports of Galaxy S9 having touch screen issues. The company says the reports are currently limited in number, and affected users are being encouraged to contact Samsung directly.

Here's the complete statement:

At Samsung, customer satisfaction is core to our business and we aim to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking into a limited number of reports of Galaxy S9/S9+ touchscreen responsiveness issues. We are working with affected customers and investigating. We encourage any customer with questions to contact us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

This official response follows widespread coverage of Galaxy S9 touch screen problems by tech media, based on a significant number of user complaints on platforms like Reddit, XDA, as well as Samsung's own forums.

Complaints range from Galaxy S9 frequently and randomly failing in registering touches to presence of complete dead spots on display. There's currently no information on whether these are hardware or software problems. We'll have to wait for Samsung to complete its investigation.
