First vivo NEX 3s 5G teaser video focuses on the waterfall display

Peter, 05 March 2020

The vivo NEX 3 5G will get a mid-season upgrade next week – the vivo NEX 3s 5G. The Google Play Console leaked some key specs showing that the “s” model will go up to a Snapdragon 865 chipset from 855+.

However, vivo’s first teaser for the phone focuses on the screen instead – or the “unbounded waterfall screen”, as the marketing materials call it. It appears to be the same 6.89” Super AMOLED panel from the NEX 3 5G whose sides curve 80° before reaching the barely-visible metal frame.

The NEX 3s 5G is expected to keep the other two cameras of the original phone (13MP with 2x zoom and 13MP ultra wide), but the battery will be slightly smaller (4,250mAh, down from 4,500mAh). Chances are that it will still support the 44W fast charging. We’ll find out for sure on March 10 (Tuesday next week).
