Oppo's new R&D 'O-Tower' unveiled with 'Infinity Loop'

Danish architecture studio BIG designed a new skyscraper building for phone maker Oppo. Names the O-Tower, it features an infinity loop that was designed to “connect ground to sky in a continuous loop of collaboration.” As per BIG, the building aligns with Oppo’s brand identity and vision.

The O-Tower will be located in Hangzhou, China and is the future home of Oppo’s research and development center. This Tower will feature an open-air courtyard (that will be open to the public) that will be surrounded by the building, and it will be built within Hangzhou’s “Future Sci-Tech City”. A 10 sq km park will be built next to the O-Tower.

Technology at its best should be a seamless extension of life. The building’s unique design will allow it to provide various sizes of floor plans and plenty of natural light to come in while also blocking 52% of solar heat. Office floors will be triple-height and share wide open spaces with the sloping shape of the building. Amenities mentions include cafeterias, conference centers, and studios.

There’s no estimated completion date just yet. Oppo’s new headquarters building is currently under construction in Shenzhen, comprising of 4 towers, the tallest of which will be 42 stories high. Oppo’s new HQ campus was designed by Zaha Hadid and is slated for completion in 2025.
