Apple rumored to launch iPadOS 16.1 on October 24

Michail, 11 October 2022

Apple usually releases its new iPadOS alongside the corresponding iOS version but that was not the case this year. While iOS 16 has been out for over a month, iPadOS 16 is still not finalized for a consumer release but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says we can expect the stable release of iPadOS 16.1 on October 24. Apple previously confirmed it will skip iPadOS 16 and will directly release iPadOS 16.1 to users.

Apple has not yet confirmed the release date but Gurman expects that to happen soon and he believes Cupertino will follow its strategy of releasing new products and firmware updates in the week of its earnings report. Apple’s Q4 2022 earnings report is expected on October 27 at 2PM PT time. While iPadOS 16.1 will finally make its long-awaited debut we may also see new hardware announcements with a new entry-level iPad alongside the M2 iPad Pro models and new M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pros.

Of course iPad Pro. I think the comparison is a huge difference. Maybe you should compare iPad 9 with it. Still, iPad is better with long-term software updates compared to Android devices.
