Garmin's new Venu 3 and Venu 3S can track naps, offer wheelchair mode

Ivan, 30 August 2023

Garmin just updated its sleek Venu series with the Venu 3 and Venu 3S. Starting at €500/$450 the smartwatches brings Garmin's usual power punch of health and fitness tracking features. For starters, the Venu 3 duo can detect naps and add them to the overall sleep tracking. Said tracking is sophisticated thanks to Pulse Ox (blood oxygen) and HRV (heart rate variability) monitoring.

Like other Garmin watches, the Venu 3 shows a Body Battery with a 1 to 100% scale that's dependent on your daily exertion.

Another new feature is the Wheelchair mode, which tracks daily pushes instead of steps and gives weight shift alerts.

The Garmin Venu 3 has a 1.4" AMOLED screen with always-on, while the Venu 3S has a slightly smaller 1.2" display. The watches take standard 22mm and 18mm bands, respectively. The case is made of fiber-reinforced polymer, while the bezel is stainless steel. The glass on top is Gorilla Glass 3.

They better do it, since the V2+ hardware supports all of the new features. Otherwise, Garmin buyers would feel like suckers.
