Ice Universe: the Galaxy Ring will be the star of the Galaxy S24 Unpacked event in January

At this point it is fairly certain that the Galaxy Ring, Samsung’s entry into a new category of health-focused wearables, is not coming this year. Now Ice Universe offers a launch window – the Ring will be announced at the Galaxy S24 unveiling event in January.

Even more importantly, it sounds like Samsung has high expectations of this new product line as the tipster says that the Galaxy Ring will be the star product of the event, perhaps outshining the Galaxy S24 series itself.

While the Unpacked events for the S22 and S23 series were in February, there have been January launches too. And we’re already seeing detailed leaks about the Galaxy S24 series, so a slightly earlier launch seems quite possible. As for the ring, the question remains whether it will be ready in time.

Samsung is reportedly ready to start mass production, but things are moving slowly due to the extra regulatory clearances needed for a health-tracking product. The Ring is expected to synthesize the health-focused features of the Galaxy Watches while dropping the most (all?) of the smartwatch features (it’s not clear whether it will even have a display).

The smaller, less obtrusive form factor of the Galaxy Ring could bring in a wider audience – people who prefer classic watches or don’t want to wear a watch at all, but still want sleep, heart rate and exercise tracking. And if Ice is right, this will be more than a ring-shaped smart band, it will be Samsung’s Next Big Thing in wearables (speaking of smart bands, Samsung seems to have given up on the segment).

If you are reding this; Please manufacture Galaxy Wall Clock, Galaxy Necklace Watch...

Well i am from Slovakia which means EU have no idea and no experience with Chinese android version. By the way if people are unhappy they still can buy global version or switch to a stock android problem solved. Also have no idea about shitty Huaw...

Only thing you have to deal with Xiaomi or Huawei is shitty software. It's too easy to take the iOS experience or Samsung's OneUI experience for granted... until you lose it and have to deal with stock Android or crappy China OS'.
