Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 both get One UI 6 beta based on Android 14

Vlad, 06 October 2023

It's been a while since Samsung first made One UI 6 beta available for its S-series flagships, and during all this time its foldables were kept on the sidelines. Well, not anymore. Starting today, the One UI 6 beta program, based on Android 14, is available for both the Galaxy Z Fold5 and the Galaxy Z Flip5.

If you want to enroll your Fold5 or Flip5 into the beta, you need to hop into the Samsung Members app, where a big banner advertising the beta should be found up top. If you don't see it, then you might need to uninstall and reinstall the Samsung Members app, according to some reports, and then it will be there.

Once you tap on the banner in question, you will agree to some terms and then you'll get the first beta as an over-the-air update. Note that this is a 2.7GB download for the Fold5 and will probably be a similar size for the Flip5.

Upon applying the update, the Fold5 will be on build F946BXXU1ZWJ2, while the Flip5 will be on F731U1UEU1ZWJ2. Note that the Fold5 is only eligible to participate in the beta in the US and India for now, and the same limitation could also apply to the Flip5.

We gotta see if the screen protector peels in a matter of a year though.

No shit, Sherlock. You're comparing flip phones to bar phones, of course one has to be better.

What truth? That my Flip5 works like a charm, is the most popular foldable and that it isn't riddled with the usual launch incompetence of that fruit vendor made in China?
