Nikon announces D5600 entry-level DSLR
Just under two years after releasing its first touchscreen camera - the D5500 - Nikon is announcing its successor.
The D5600 builds upon the D5500 with Nikon's SnapBridge which keeps the camera constantly connected to a smartphone through low energy Bluetooth. The touchscreen interface now has a virtual Fn button, which gives quick access to key features like the Auto ISO. Nikon's "frame advance bar" interface allows you to view photos quickly on the touchscreen by dragging your finger - you can even lock the zoom for all images so you can pixel peep right on the screen.
Otherwise the Nikon D5600 is mostly a replica of its predecessor - it uses the same EXPEED 4 processor, a familiar 24MP APS-C sensor, the same 3.2" 1M dot tilt-swivel screen, the same 100 - 25,600 ISO range and even the same body.
There's no word on pricing or availability yet.
