I think you should have gotten the red one since my gf and her sister reported that they encountered no problems with their units. Except one occasion when my gf said hers restarted.
But I think it's pretty much like gambling. I just hope you get a unit that is not problematic.
Let's just hope a firmware update is available.

if we use cell without memory card.. we can lessen this restart problem...... secondly when call the cell becomes loudspeaker automaticaly.. if we push the oufspeaker two times at the start of every call... the sound will become normal..... hope so you people will get..... byeeew

i really hope i'll get a good unit. i was at nokia yesterday nagiisa nalang n101 nila unfortunately red pa so im just waiting for their replenishment. atleast this gives time for me to make some more review.
btw bro, san mo nabili yung iyo? can you tell the details of your firmware thru *#0000#?
another is that have you heard of an updated version, i mean is it really possible for an s30 os such as n101 to get a firmware update.. parang yun nalang talaga sagot sa lahat ng bugs na to

These are the occasions that my 101 restarts.
1. Sending an SMS - This is the most frequent activity that triggers restarts. Depends if you're a heavy texter but I say I have an average of 10 restarts per day.
2. Opening an SMS - This happened less frequent before I sent my 101 to Nokia Care twice. Now it hasn't occured yet again.
3. While on Silent Mode (or other profile) - I observed that my 101 restarts even without any key input. While just in Silent mode it restarts. This hasn't occured yet again.
On the dual sim capability I think the salesman is misinformed. The 101 doesn't need to restart to switch to other SIM. But when you use just only one sim (TO SAVE POWER) the other sim's active connection is ended.
Will post other experiences with this phone. Stay tuned.

i bought my in nigeria two day ago my battery is bl-5cb most time incomeing and out going call the phone enter loudspeaker it self and no way to put it normal very anoying can any body pls help thanks

dont worry guys if u cant access the MP3 Files in the Music Player Try this:
In Music Player find Refresh Library and Let is search for New music Files and update your phone

hye, im using this phone about 1 week already, and buy in malaysia with cost about RM105 (the cheapest price, normally RM135) and warranty from ZITRON (NOKIA). This simple phone with memory card, MP3 and support dual sim is really awesome. After all, ive found some major problem with this phone which is line drop, phone restart some times and the battery can stand up to 2 and the half days for standby (in the box said up to 25 days standby) .

i have BL-5C battery from my nokia 1208 phone and it is not charging on my new nokia 101. why it doesnt work?

good to know that you have cleared about the send later issue, unfortunately the restart problem is still there.
WHEN DOES IT USUALLY RESTART? AND HOW OFTEN DOES IT HAPPEN NOW?
i asked these because i also have asked one salesman about the restart issue in one of the retail stores at Robinson's (he does not look really reliable for me though) what he said was that nokia 101 is dual sim but dual stand by so it needs to restart in order for the other sim card to receive the message. it restarts to activate the other sim when there is an incoming text, he added..
so to make it simple i'll put it this way(in my understanding)..
you are using sun and globe sims (e.g. you are in the Phils.), you previously sent a message from your globe, automatically the globe is the active one then somebody texted to your sun sim. so the phone itself needs to reboot to activate sun sim and be able to receive and view the text... lol! is that it, really?
anyways, let us know the result of your test with bl-5j, ok.

I have this phone and put 4 songs on a microsd card. The problem is, the phone can't read my mp3 files on my memory card. Opened up the mp3 player with no luck. Anyone there knows this problem and how to fix this? I'm already compelled to bringing it back to the store. Thanks guys.

i hav ths phone i restarts bt not always it is prone too saying no sim card sometimes the problm is the battery of ths phone is too weak u need to change it to BL-5j more stronger than 5C :)

i just bought this phone,,overall ok but my phone always restrt,,mybe i hve to chnge my battery,the mp3 sound not too gud but still ok

Unfortunately the BL-5C battery type didn't do the trick for me. I'll consider the BL-5J battery if this will solve my restart problem.
