After few months of using Nokia 6300 I have returned to my old and trusty 1100. The reason? When it comes to battery time, signal reception or simplicity of usage Nokia 1100 beats its current competitors hands down. Now I use 2 phones: 6300 as an entertainment centre (for music, pictures, video clips, games, even for reading ebooks) and veteran 1100 for my communication. It looks a bit dated but works flawlessly for a week, picking up even the faintest calls. As an apology for my treason, I've dressed my old Nokia with new fancy covers. Now it looks sweet and funny.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2008The Nokia 1100 HAS voicemail. Actually, voicemail does not ... moreGreat phone! I agree. My phone is about 5 years old and it takes a licking and keeps on... The phone has great reception, no frills, no fuss. Battery lasts and lasts. I also only need to recharge about 1 a week. The charge would last longer, but I use vibratory mode which appears to use a lot of the battery.

Jenna, 15 Aug 2008Does the Nokia 1100 have voice mail? The Nokia 1100 HAS voicemail. Actually, voicemail does not live in your mobile phone, it is a feature provided by mobile service providers. In other words, all mobile phones have voicemail as long as your mobile service provider offers voicemail.

I love this phone. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It's just simple, quick and easy to use, and it won't ever let you down. It is also very tough and durable. Battery life is insane, I charge it about once a week. It is sad that this model has been discontinued by Nokia as it is so damn good. The current equivalent Nokia model would be the Nokia 1200, which has similar features BUT it has a 4-way navigation button and two select buttons which basically means that you need to *think* when you use your phone, whereas on the 1100 it was just the Centre Key and that is it. The 1200 also has a flashlight but you can't switch it on by double-pressing the C button, no, you have to go into menus to turn it on. So imho the 1100 is as good as it's going to get because of market trends.
