I bought this phone on the new year's eve... Since now no problem...But the response time is slow compared to other phones..and the design is not that much...

If you cannot send sms but can receive it means the message centre number needs to be set again (Messages -> Message settings -> Sending Profile). You should get this number from the provider or copy it from another phone on the same network.

Made n India fonz now nokia has shifted from hungary worst finnished quality. thatswhy its cheaper than 1110 1112 as they were hunguary.useles torch even light of every fonz helps u ndark.Someday production will be only parts boxed u assemble yourself n home.

after 3days of purchase, my nokia1200 simply wont send message.no prob with incoming and outgoing calls, even receiving msgs.i lost my receipt to avail its warranty, reprogram costs 400!can anyone tell other options?

I bought this phone 2 months ago as a 2nd phone. I mostly use this phone for messaging as I use to msg a lot and my N73 is too slow for messaging and the keypad is also a bit uncomfortable. Nokia 1200 is quite good in messaging. Responce is fast and keypad is also comfortable.
The message storage is less ( only 60 sms) although the phone has 4MB memory which is vacant all the time as the phone doesnt have GPRS or any other storage input source. so they should have given more memory to Messaging.
I have bought this mobile in Mobile zone guarantee(Pakistan) and the problem is that it has came from india so urdu is not available as a writing language. Moreover calender is also messed up with hindi events and occations which is really really pathetic. Mobile zone should do something about this.
The phone also have some software bugs but as someone already said that they are very minor and do not effect the functionality of phone. Upgraded firmwares will solve those buggs.
The charging also lasts for a long time.Flash light quite powerful and better than my N73.
Call history can save 5 latest missed calls came from the same number. Same is valid for dialled and received numbers. Quite useful feature which was absent in Nokia 1110 & 1112 models. As they use to overwrite the previous missed calls when a new missed call comes from the same number.
Overall a really nice phone. Durable & reliable. Nokia is the best in low price handsets as well as expensive ones.

John, hi. Please check ur sms settings. The phone is good, i bought it since it was first launched, i have had no troubles.

Consider buying 1208 instead, becasue this model has few problems, earpiece volume too low, SMS sending problems. 1208 is way better, keypad lights are evenly distributed, earpiece volume is very good, you can hear the other person on busy streets very easily, SMS sending works every time you try to send a message.

i have this phone and sadly i am not able to understand the multiphone book option. i understand that if i want to lend this phone to someone else that person can use his phone book list.. but i don't know how to go about it... can someone tell me step by step... thanks in advance...
