Can you please tell me how to increase the in-coming call volume on this phone?

The 1209 is a pretty decent (and mind you classy-looking) entry level phone from Nokia - and it works just great! :) One thing people rant about is that it is basically the 1208 with a different front cover. And yes- they're basically right. The casing used is made of hard plastic and has smoothed edges for that more premium look. That was what they had in mind when they made the phone anyway; an entry level phone with a bit of class. Of course, like it's cousins the 1200 and 1208, the phone uses the same software (I forgot how they call it) albeit the display screen is a little better than that of the 1208 (dont ask me how, as that is what the box says). Overall, people seeking a good everyday phone with a bit of good looks should opt for this one - it has talktime and reception quality on par with most entry level Nokia phones but with an additional bit of style. :)

deepak, 09 Sep 2009i dont know about this phone can i buy it pls tell me it wa... morehi,what do u mean by whether this is a good/bad mobile? it depends on what u want. whatever it claims in manual, it does well. u will not be disappointed if u wanted basic features & a reliable set.

Hello there!!! Can anyone tell me how much this phone have internal memory? Nika 1208 have 4MB but how much have this Nokia 1209?

I have more things to add regarding 1209-
I changed my sim yesterday to new tata docomo sim 64K.Once i started using it outgoing messages started hanging again and again. I had to switch my phone off many times and reboot to make it work again. Then i got bugged with it and took it to nokia care. They said software problem and reloaded the software, but same thing happened again. Then as a last attempt i tried putting my airtel sim in that. This solved the problem. as of now i have sent multiple messages without problems. So anybody who is planning to use Tata Docomo 64K sim on this phone,please be prepared for nasty surprises.

I have a new problem with my 1209. when i type an sms message and try sending it, phone shows a message "wait.." and a horizontal bar with progress line moving to and fro. i had to switch off my mobile and restart it. then it was ok. anybody else facing same problems? whats the solution?

I am very hopeful about this set as-
I was using a Nokia1600 before this,it had very good battery,fantastic signal reception in poor network areas, simple and fast interface and was sturdy.It didnt die but i sold it as i got bored with it and for lack of proper calender, just to realise later that i had made a mistake.A motorola flip fone i got after 1600 had lesser battery life and sluggish messaging. a samsung had nice battery but amazingly no reminders on that fone. I needed it. a sony ericsson set had marginally poorer signal reception and poorer battery.When i started searching for my beloved 1600, nokia had stopped marketing it. Now i see that this phone has same interface. I hope though its bit thicker, it has same excellent signal reception abilities and very good battery (calender there now).

I have this phone since a week now- I went through webpages and reviews before purchasing this.So I am absolutely aware of what features I would get and also what is lacking in this set.(I see lot of people cursing this phone for lack of camera,wifi,bluetooth,music,beauty etc..etc..But if they r disappointed about a feature which nokia never claimed its there on the set, then they r either illiterate or they are retarded.) What i think is- a mobile phone should have-
1. small and convenient to carry size
2. good signal reception
3. Good battery backup
if it has a fast,stable software,its very nice bonus.
All other features are add ons and luxuries.I would say this set has most of above desired features. I have used 25+ phones before this and many sets with exotic features were either unable to catch signals when i desperately wanted to make a call or the battery just drained out during a long journey or just broke when dropped accidentally.So ultimately i realised I needed a reliable handset equally as much as a smartphone.So i carry 2 phones now. E51 and this. most of calls and texting is on this phone. and till now its not failed me yet.I liked 1600 too very much but it lacked a proper calender.But this set seems to have solved the problem.Nowadays even a manual labourer carries a mobile phone. so showing off ur mobile is not a great fashion statement anymore.There r shortcomings like- slightly difficult flat keypad and occasional messaging problems.But which high-end smartphone is perfect?more the software features, more sluggish they r and hang and drain battery.
I would recommend this to anyone who shares my viewpoint.

thats cheap, look and comfortable. good back up battery. good design and flash light.but it has just 1 problem... thats volume ringing is very low, i cant hear but thats very nice phone. i love it

i hav dis fone for 2 yrs it is good fone i like this fone .. i charge it dailee ok anyway u dunt need to charge it daily it works good if charge 3 days ago ok .. i do calls and very long calls and sms daily for 700 to 900 sms daily kee pad is best in this fone .. rocking fone i say about it.. anyway enuff said .. it was a joke .. lol .. i just wanted ta write like dat :D
