This has a brighter, clearer LCD than the 1208/2310/1600. Well at least mine does.
It still has the software bug regarding the Sent Items where some messages remain in "pending" status even when they were in fact already sent. Once your Sent Items folder becomes filled with these "pending" items, you have no choice but to manually delete them one by one or you wouldn't be able to send any more text messages--a bug which has been around for over a year in the 1xxx series since firmware version 5.00 and Nokia never fixed.

It is topi by nokia, same set as 1208,1200..

When i bought this phone i saw 80 languages "are ya kiddin me i thought that not more than 50 languages in da world Nokia proved me wrong",i think i need to strong my General knowledge and must buy for simple mobile users

well I'm a NOKIA fan already and not going for SE phones again and what do i have to say to this phone well this phone is for people who doesn't need to much features on their phone!!! but if you would choose good phone try purchasing N-series phone bec. n-series phone gives you the best quality like N82 and N95 and etc.

Some people just needed a simple fone for simple texting and voice call. I have myself N70, not most of the features I used anyway...I am thinking of getting this one, BUT i will call it UGLY and Terrible if the fone is slow and has trouble on SMS-ing.

This phone too expensive for me, i can only buy 1200. But 1200 seems to have bad keypad not like 1209.
I hope 1209 casing can fit in 1200, coz non original casing only 2 usd and diff betwen that 2 handset about 20 usd.
I live at indonesia by the way, my sallary only 50 usd a month.

Ugly phone and this phone are for barbarians only and lack of many features and what's NOKIA doing they are still producing phone that is not colored and lacks many features

THIS IS A CELLPHONE... Got it?¿ A CELLPHONE... Search "cellphone" in a dictionary, it wont say camera, wifi, gps, etc... So understand that ALOT OF PPL (mostly older ppl) would be satisfied with this PHONE that makes calls and send text messages (the needed)

What's wrong with this phone? Not everyone is interested in Hi-tech gadgets like some people are. I just bought myself this phone today. It's small, handy, and cute looking. Only brainless people would call this phone for the barbaians.

Surely one of the best basic phone for beginners. Imagine a call tracker,screens unwanted callers and text messages to a separate folder,and an emergency flashlight and a triband phone that fits into one. Far better than its brother-the Nokia 1208 which is a dual band phone.
