Hi, I am from India and I purchased the Nokia 1280 just two days back. The best thing I like about this phone is the shape and styling (minimalistic and beautiful). I really don't care about a camera/3G and other fancy features on a phone. It seems to do the talk and message part well and there is no problem with sound quality. I do have one concern however: the SAR statement for this phone specifies the energy output to 1.15 W/Kg, which is quite high compared to other Nokia phone models (the safety limit is supposed to be 2 W/Kg). Does anyone have an idea if the energy output from this phone is Ok for daily use?

Hi,
I had great expectations for a basic phone with FM.
However the Nokia 1280 has left lot to be desired.
The sounds like the ring tones dont seem to be good.
The volume levels are also low, I guess.
The phone switches off on its own! For eg. I pressed the power off
button(not hold the button for few seconds). The phone does a reboot
of sorts. And sometimes this happens repeatedly.
This I have seen when changing the language of the phone as well.
Another problem is the received speech is not clear and loud enough.
I think I made a mistake of going for this phone.

I'm from the Philippines and I'm using this for almost just a week now. And I'm having no problem so far. I have another Nokia phone and a touchscreen phone w/c I haven't been using in a while. I wan'ed a phone where I can make calls and send sms comfortably and 1280 is just what I needed. :)

am using this mobile for last one month.... the problem is while using loudspeaker mode during call... others cant hear my voice, instead its producing some scratching sound... after reducing loudspeaker volume fully... others can hear me clearly...
and while pressing some buttons randomly like typing when the phone keypad is locked. its get restarted( u too try this)... plz help me to fix this problem. thank u

Wonder why this 1280 has so many problems but still got such "high voting resutls" ? It is even poor than his predecessor 1202......

Im from manila philippines, just bought one unit of Nokia 1280. I had a problem encountered, message alert volume in settings is HIGH/MAXIMUM but when in actual or when you received a text message the alert/tone is not that HIGH and it seems like it is set to lower volume.
I go to the NOKIA Service Center to complain the issue, i leave the unit for software checking then after 24HRS they respond that it's the same problem after reformat or reprogram the phone so possible the hardware problem. Then a week after, they said that they replaced the main board of the unit. But when i pick up and test the unit, same problem. NO IMPROVEMENT, so they told me a possible OS/SOFTWARE issues and will escalate to head office of NOKIA so if they release a new SOFTWARE version they will fixed that issue.
QUESTION:
anyone of you guys encounter a MESSAGE ALERT TONE problem?? the volume is set to HIGH/MAXIMUM but when receiving a text message the TONE is too LOW.

There is indeed "Undo Clear Option" in Nokia 1280 and it is working fine in my phone (firmware 4.20). But there are some limitations to it. I will try and explain it to you as simple as possible.
Text can be cleared in Nokia 1280 by 3 ways.
Method A) If u want to clear only some part of the message like typo errors press "Clear" using the Right Selection key repeatedly (right selection key is present above the Red colored Call End Button).
Method B) Instead if u want to clear the whole message then press and hold "Clear" (right selection key) for a couple of seconds
Method C) Go to Options (using the left selection key) and scroll down. There you will find "Clear Text". This erases the entire message just like in method B
Now coming to the point there is Undo Clear option available in Options. But you have to take note that Undo Clear appears in options only if u clear the message text using Method B and Method C. You cannot use the Undo Clear Option if you clear some or part of the message using Method A.
To put it simply... if u clear the entire message as in Methods B and C then you can use the Undo Clear option. Partially clearing the message as in Method A doesn't bring up the Undo Clear option.
If u have any more doubts please let me know. I will try help you to the best of my ability.
