>>Plastic keypad? are you sure it has plastic, it looks a lot like rubber keypad.

No ROM & RAM. Therefore this Nokia 130 is lag, when you reach maximum text messages in inbox/outbox/sent items etc. And I don't think that Plastic keypad can last 1-2 years. Nokia 107/108 has RAM and Tough keypad.

AKS, 18 Oct 2014NO,...you are not a dumb...good job done. Basic phone is mu... moreThanks. It is Day 2 and the Nokia 130 still has nearly full battery life. So, it is going strong.
With no wifi or 2G/3G and no need for apps to be constantly updated, standby time is awesome.
The body shell creeks a bit when pressed, but nothing to worry about.
I would have preferred if there had been a facility to change wallpapers or the possibility of changing the right key (it only shows the "music" option).

As with Nokia Series 30 phones, this phone does not have GPRS/EDGE, wifi. The bluetooth is only to send and receive files (but you can only view video files from the phone as there is no photo viewer) and not for headset use.

In the age of smartphones, it seems dumb to have, well, a dumb phone.

                          Or is it?

I recently bought the latest Nokia 130, which is microscopic in comparison to my large 6" Nokia 1320.

The Nokia 130 really looks nice in flesh and the black keys stand out from the fluorescent red body.

A phone with no touch screen, no internet (no WhatsApp, skpe, viber either), no wifi, no camera (back or front), no photo viewer, and errrrr, ummmm, a measly 1.8 inch screen!

What was I thinking? Was I dumb?

Consider my arguments in favour of a basic phone.

For a dual SIM phone priced at Rs 1750, it is a perfect secondary/backup phone. And with a great battery and standby (26-day standby) life, the Nokia 130 will be that S.O.S (swiss knife) phone which will last far, far longer than any windows, android, iphone or blackberry, as these smartphones would, most likely, go into deep slumber within a day or two of usage.

Now, many may consider a Nokia 130 a useless phone with no features. But, it does have the basic facilities. Ten of them to be precise:

                          1. Calls
                          2. Text messages
                          3. Radio
                          4. MP3 player
                          5. USB Drive (32GB micro SD card)
                          6. Alarm clock
                          7. Calculator
                          8. Calendar
                          9. Reminder
                          10. Flashlight

With the bare essentials covered in Rs 1750, what more could I want in a backup phone which accepts 2 SIM cards?

What I like about the Nokia 130 is that it has bluetooth (to send and receive music files) and charges from a normal micro usb charger, as opposed to the old thin Nokia pin charger. So, one charger is compatible for all our three Nokia phones. Besides, it can take up to 32GB microSD cards and can double up as a USB drive, if connected to a PC.

My primary phone is the mega Nokia 1320, but I am extremely pleased to have a simple, basic, effective and useful secondary phone for any or all of the 10 abovementioned basic/essential requirements.

Now, am I still dumb? You figure out.

                          Regards.

                                Purchased Yesterday..
                                Excellent basic phone.
                                Good built quality.
I'll give it a 10/10 for it's value for money, design and weight. Bought it @Rs 1600 Black Model for ME & RED colour model @Rs 1680 for my DAD
It support regular size dual sims (Not MINI sim)
You can manage the dual sim setting (To active or Deactive any of the sim)
Call quality is also superb. There is NOO voice leak problem in this handset ear piece speaker
Good Keypad. The keypad is very soft & responsive the buttons are properly spaced so that you don't accidently press the wrong one.
It has a tiny LED light & a speaker on the back don't expect much from LED light, ring volume is loud enough
It does come with a music & a video player built in.
The only thing missing is a photo viewer although it comes preloaded with 3 wallpapers which you can view on its screen but no support for any JPEG or other picture file formats.
It also has bluetooth & a micro Usb port which is used for charging & connecting the phone to the computer. I had put 16GB Hp class 10 sd card and it work well
Bluetooth has very limited use only to send recieve mp3. No use for images coz it does' nt hav file explorer.
                                There is no internet connection
                                Battery life is very impressive
Contact support only 1 number per contact in phone memory
This phone will not disappoint you in sound and call quality. U can go for it.
                                Thanks
