What means "mp3 grade tone" exactly? It's not a real mp3 format so what is it? :)

Just switched over to Nokia 1600 after a bad experience with Sony Ericson K 300i.
Good as a basic phone. Unfortunately cannot set date on screen....no shortcut to switch to silent mode and vice versa.... difficult to compose text for sms as it is a long step to activate dictionary for a few lines of message.
Can we over-ride the existing shortcuts with other options e.g instead of demo - which has only little features, with e.g alarm setting etc
Getting to learn more. Will write in later

this cellphone is a great phone. i have it now and all my classmates in school always borrow it because of their favorite game on my cell that is rapid roll. nokia 1600 is a phone that is easy to use and affordable. but the thing is you cant listen to music with it. but its great.

Nokia 1600 is a great lower end colour phone. It is for busy people and starters who wanted to use mobile phone as just a phone. There is enough ring tones, themes. Overall performace is very good. Price too is very attractive..you can go for it.....Aravaazhi

This phone is a cheap end unit, that gives you your moneys worth, by 10 times what you would have put out, so that makes it one of NOKIA's best cheap end phones, with all the necessary functions that any simple phone user can ask for.
I'LL give NOKIA a 10 out of 10 on this unit.

Pros:
1. Have all the features of a basic phone. THE phone for people who want it simple and useful.
2. Speakerphone feature is powerful.
3. Good battery life.
Cons:
1. Small screen
2. Doesn’t ring loud enough while in a crowded place , Big probelm. Most of the ringtones aren’t audible enough to be heard the first time if the TV is switched on, a little loud. The ringtone that comes with the phone are just not good to be ear-friendly
3. One speaker for everything. No separate speaker for the earphone and the call rings. Thus, I doubt the longevity of the speaker.
4. Keypad, especially the navigation keys are too small and uncomfortable.
Conclusion:
Very good phone for its price,: SIMPLE, USEFUL , Economical, COLOUR SCREEN MOBILE. It does its job well no doubt, but it ain’t a perfect package.

Hi, thanks for the product. It is very good and portable, neat and beautiful. It is what I'm using currently. No regret. But I will be happier if I can browse the internet with it. Your Nokia products are wonderful. I've used the Nokia 6150 before,now it is Nokia 1600. I hope to be able to afford a higher grade with more resources in future.

not a good buy i had taken a 1600 2 months ago.and alrady sent it to nokia service center for software repairs 3 time. please dont buy this phone.

nokia 1600 is very easy set but poliphonic & monophonic ringtons are not to be save as ringtons.why

i have been using this phone for a week! its a very nice... but it doesnt have GPRS or even infrared but its still cool... this phone is also very light that i could carry it anywhere. The sounds are great, it sounds like mp3 tones.. i love it..and what's awesome about it, it has a talking clock... very funny!
