Nokia 1616 or N... morei bought my 1661 last year and this 1616 last month. basically identical in features, basic talk and text functions, and just what i needed for my daily use. i recommend this 1616 to those who are looking for a reliable, sturdy, and dirt-cheap phone(costs 1520 pesos here in the philippines). as to the so-called voice leak at the back issue, common sense dictates that you lower the earpiece volume(not the sound volume) to minimize the "leak".

ADVANTAGES
a)Cheap
b)Light weight
c)Stereo jack (good fm disco on ur woofers and headset)
d)New design of user interface (OS)
DISADVANTAGES
a) voice leakage from back (as in 1202,1203)
b)OS is slow in processing, The speed of phone will not be able match your finger speed, sometimes irritating.
c)The buttons are hard and making loud plastic sound when pressed, Nokia says its a sms set but hard buttons and slow processing does not prove this.
d)center button does not work

before buying nokia 1616,I had compared it to nokia 1209 then decided to take it because of the more beautiful,larger screen.
i've used this phone for 2 weeks.These are my experiences:good texting(better than 1661),good volume(u can increase volume of speakers),great flashlight,good design and cheap.However,battery is not so good as nokia 1661 is.
Totally,I recommend for person who is looking forward to a basic cellphone(texting and call).

I want to buy this phone. 2 questions:
1) has it got speaker leakage problems like N1202?
2) how the display works under direct sunlight?

My answer is No One of them, Nokia 1680classic is the best. I've this phone for 1 year, and i was heppy with this phone,and i want to buy an N97 in 2weeks, but i don't sell or change it.

Dear guys, i m confused which phone to buy. Nokia 1616 or Nokia 1661.
Both house the same features almost with little price diffrence but i have listened that 1616 has some voice leakage problem. Moreover 1661 has some extra features like voice recording & multiple sms deletion. But 1616 has long battery life. I m gonna mad. Plz help me & suggest me which phone i should buy. And 1 thing more, i think the look of Nokia 1661 is little better than 1616. Plz help me

Well guyz I'm Using this set right now............There seems to be only 1 problem I m faceing...Whenever U R on a CALL your voice will ecHo..Any body hav a solution

Every thing is best. But only problem is key pad.its not soft. I m using this phone.u cay buy it. Its best as of cost of it..
