1661 phone is a good but if display brocken it not possibal to change. and sound also is very poor and key pad also is to hard to press.

my friend bought a nokia 1661 and she is really complianing about the ringing tone and the calling volume is very poor.

rab, 23 Aug 2009I bought the nokia 1661 yesterday and i have already decide... moreto see the clock in powersaver mode, just hit the red on/off button.
otherwise, i agree that it's not the best keypad, but what do you want for the price? it's the cheapest phone that i could find, and it's actually quite sleek and works well for me so far. biggest complaint is that it creaks a lot as the back doesn't seem to fit properly. cheaply made in that respect, but it otherwise works well and is very inexpensive. eventually i'm going to upgrade to the new nokia 3720.

I bought the nokia 1661 yesterday and i have already decided to give it to a charity shop.
This phone is no good for me due to the very small buttons on the keypad. The keypad is soft to touch but it is no good for a mans big fingers.
Another problem is that the ringtones are not loud enough as stated on the nokia website and the vibrate alert is very poor. You will definitely miss calls outdoors with this phone. Also it is almost impossible to see the power saver clock in standby mode.
I will NOT be buying the nokia 1202, 1662 or 5030 either as no doubt the above problems will be in these phones as well and i would be wasting my money.
I currently use the nokia 1112 and the nokia 1600 and the ringtones are louder on these, the vibrate alert is much stronger in your pocket and the keypads are very comfortable with bigger buttons and you can easily see the power saver clock.
Nokia used to excel at making great basic phones like the 1100, 1110, 1112, 1600, 3410, 3510i etc.
NOT ANY MORE......!!!!!

worst keypad..but has 500 phone book entries..FM is better than nokia 2626

Hi, could anyone help to find out how to unlock the number which I have blocked by accident? It shows the incoming number on the screen, however the ringtone does not work:( Thank you!
PS there is no any explanation in the operating manual...

I don't know how to use the loudspeaker or voice mail. There are no instructions in the manual which is very limited

I found Nokia 1662 keypad is wost because keys are really in not out. Its not for most of SMS user.

In the specs is saying dual band but then specifies all four bands... what is the truth? is this a quad band?
