One thing you cannot change (and that's too bad), is the timeout before the phone keyboard locks itself: 1 min.

You can assign any shortcut key of your choice to lock the keyboard though.

Something I might add: even if the phone don't have the drafts functionality (at least I have not found it), the SMS you are currently writing is saved if you quit the writing before sending the message. When you'll go back to the SMS editor, your text will be there.

What do you mean by screensaver?

I didn't test much the call functionality, so I won't promise the sound quality is perfect. From the couple calls I made, it seemed fine enough for me. I'll let you know when I will have done more calls.

nomi, 21 Jun 2013thanks for your such a brief and nice descriptive comment..... moreHi nomi,

Yes I agree with you. Changing the theme changes the menus icons and the menus wallpaper, but not the home screen wallpaper.
But you can change it manually by going into Settings->Display->Wallpaper.

vijay, 21 Jun 2013Hi nano, does this phone supports .swf (flash) wallpaper o... moreHi vijay,

I tried to set the wallpaper as a .swf file, and it didn't work (message is "Unable to select. File type unusable"). But you can change the wallpaper with any .png file you like.

I don't think you can use the phone as a modem via the bluetooth. I didn't find any option relative to that. Unfortunately, I don't have an Internet package with my phone, so I won't be able to really test it in the end even if someone found a way to do it.

              Hope that helps.

2-questions, 19 Jun 2013Hi, two questions on Nokia 206 for owners of the phone: ... moreHi 2-questions,

                                1. I didn't find the single SIM version to buy, so I bought myself a double SIM version (bought it for 55€ in France), even if I have only one SIM card.

                                2. I confirm that you can use the Bluetooth in a traditional way. I took some pictures with my 206 and successfully transferred them via bluetooth on a Motorola Defy.

2-questions, 19 Jun 2013Hi, two questions on Nokia 206 for owners of the phone: ... moreWe can use bluetooth as traditionally (in case we dont want to use Slam). This Nokia 206 is good to be a secondary mobile phone nowaday. Its numeric keypad is so easy to type. No need to use Opera Mini with this handset because it has its own internet browser . .i think that its internet's speed is fast enough because of Nokia Xpress browser but the phone is not big enough so it is not comfortable by reading news from Internet.
This mobile phone supports multi- lingual (english, chinese, thai, cambodian, vietnamese . .). Phone's font size is adjustable same as brightness.
For normal use its battery can last for two or three days but if using internet : its battery lasts for one day only :) anyway thank you to Nokia for your lovely dual sim mobile phone.

Just received and finished to configure my 206 (Dual SIM, black). Keep in mind that I have had a Sony Ericsson J220i before that for my personal use, and a Motorola Defy and a Samsung Galaxy SII for professional use.

I bought the 206 for a personal use, that is: a few SMS and calls in a week, no more (no Internet...). That's why I didn't look for a 3G phone, nor a touch one. I hesitated a long time between the 206 and the 301, but seeing all the battery life problems of the 301, I went for the 206.

I'm quite happy with it for now.

Keyboard seems practical to write SMS without looking at the phone (I will need a bit of training though, the keyboard is a bit larger than by old phone).

I don't think (in contrary to what I've already read here) that the OS is slow, I'm satisfied with it for now.

The nice thing about the 206 is that you can customize quite a lot of shortcuts: either you choose to have the "home screen mode" on, and you can have a row of shortcuts (I don't know if there is a limit number) to practically every function of the phone (contacts, SMS, ring/vibrate profiles, apps...), or you choose to deactivate this "home screen", and you can assign shortcuts to the navigation keys (up,left, down, right around the square "menu" key). You can also change the shortcuts of the two keys that are just above the "start call", "end call" keys.

Screen is big enough to browse menus, write SMS and make calls.

You can change the screen backlight intensity and time-out (from 10s to 120s).

The phone feels nice in hand, I just find it a bit too big for my uses.

One thing missing is a USB connection. As I have no data package, I won't be able to transfer some picture I would take with the phone on my computer...

The phone comes with a few apps already installed (that I didn't test): alarm clock, calculator, gallery, voice recorder, to-do list, notes, countdown timer, stopwatch, games (asphalt 6 demo, green farm demo, midnight pool 3).

One thing I will be testing the coming days is the battery life, I'll post my results here.

If you have some questions, don't hesitate to ask, I'll try to answer them.
