wow....this phone brings back memories !
my first ever mobile phone back in 1996. bought it from PEOPLES PHONE in the UK-remember them...
this lasted me FOUR YEARS in the days before yearly upgrades and never went wrong.
i still have it in a box of old stuff but the battery is dead now.
what is really funny is that looking back , me and my mates were all 19 at the time and thought we were so cool with these phones - one mate had this phone finished off in WOOD ,and another mate had it finished off in CARBON FIBRE0 which was cool - not sure about the wood finish though !
ah....memories !

I bought the Nokia 2160 here in Buenos Aires in 1999.. which is very similar to this one here ..but.. it has a TDMA net.. so, no Sim cards or anything of the sort. I agree with everybody that this one is the most solid phone ever made. It can slip from your hands many many times without even having a scratch! I'd even bought it second-handed I remember meaning that it is 11 years old! I've passed it to my mum, who's using it nowadays and I hope it'll work for another 50 years which I reckon it's not such an impossible thing. I wish phones nowadays were as solid as this one.

This piece of tech-art is solid rock, I guess noki'os people should consider making their new "all-in-one" handhelds as solid as this. I met a guy who buyed a "supersonic" N90, but one day the thing fell from its hands hitting the floor and rolled out the room... You probably know what happened. ¡poor guy!
