Anonymous, 03 Jan 2010Hey... first get your hands on an S40 5th edition device an... morei have both the phones in my family and and samsung metro is far better .... i downloaded the movie after correctingthe display size into both the phones and metro is far better than nokia 2700 ..... as far as as bot multimedia and music is concerned . u cant watch it on 2700... u seem to be a die hard fan and refuse to listen to reason .... so i wont break my head on you . i have better things to do

I am using it now. It is the best set. having 2 MP camera, but the result is not compareable with N70[i also own n70]. And it comes with 1 GB of memory card. you can extend it upto 2GB Maximum........i love it.. it is smooth and is best to gift to your girl friend.

Nokia maps is not about using GPS, it works on devices that has no GPS. Google maps works on S40, You jst have to download the correct version. If you are stup1d enuf to download a S60 version and try it on S40 and say it doesnt work then... well what can i say...hehe.
90% symbian apps dnt work on 2700 , 6303 or 6700
actually, 100% symbian apps dont work on these phones coz like you said these are S40 devices.
But the point to be noted is there are over 100000 themes, 8000+ games and 2500+ free apps available for S40 phones. You can look at sites mobile9 and zedge for proof.
one more thing both samsung metro and 2700 have same resolution 320X240.

ts basic talk only phone with a big 252,000 col screen , talk only phone ,
pros 1) VERY stylish , 2) very good battery 3)ovi mail 3) very good for farmers 4)ovi connect 5) clear voice 6)good basic camera ( no autofocus)
and mic
cons 1) bad camera ( no auto focus ) no iso setting no exposure control
2) very bad earphones , 3) very low resolution screen , so even though the screen is big you cant watch movies .maximum micro sd card size is 2GB ( samsung metro is 8 gb)
the speaker is muffled and not clear .
This one is bad .... no match for samsung metro 3310 , the only point where it scores over the metro is a good battery
the bundled earphone is bad

hurray it has nokia maps .... but it wont work without the coupling of an additional accessory of the nokia gps device which costs additional 5000 rs or 100$
you cant download google maps and install it in your mobile . because it wont work on your s40 device...
90% of the symbian applications wont work on your nokia 2700 , 6303 or 6700 mobile ( they work on only series 60 system).......
so basically u are just stuck with a good looking phone .... take care ..........
bad keypad ( not durable keypad) ,samsung is 16 m colors nokia only 262000 col , and its key pad seems better
just match the two specifications yu will see the huge diff .......
the size is huge ....... you wont feel like watching any movie in the video player .... due to lack of resolution
no data cable ..... bad earphones ..... the worst part is that the cable is CA101 , ITS NOT MENTIONED IN THE NOKIA WEBSITE ( 12/2009)
the menu systems , organiser and over layout is good you can synchonise outlook ovi mail and a lot other applications ..... games are good ... speaker phone baddddddddddd............ and muffled
has nokia life tools , i think i bought a farmers phone by mistake ... it has a lot of tools which are extremely helpful to farmers
the ring tones are so low that you cant hear it , if on street or away from handset ...... they have given bad speakers ..... true for its brother 6303.....6700
over all looks 6-7 /10 value for money 6/10
basically a talking phone , the battery really lasts 3-4 days
dont expect much for the samsung metro .......
my suggestion is if you dont mind charging battery every 1-2 days go for samsung metro .... when i went to the mobile store the samsung metro was all sold out , was waiting for a long time finally bought this ,,,
if u dont get the metro in the shop go for lg gm 200
this one is just for talking ..........

@Rohit: You said the phone comes with 1 GB card, but the specification here says, the internal memory is 32 MB. So this 1 GB card, is that like a limited time promotional offer or now its part of the standard 2700 Package?

NOKIA 2700 classic....bought it last day for RS.4130 from mobile store,kerala...had gone through all its feature...as da name suggests da fone has got a very basic n classic look....da fone comes wid 1gb card,charger and headfone...no data cable well dats a prob cz da cable costs around rs.120..no da very first look on da fone its display is gud nice clarity..the menu is customizable n dats a gud feature..the keypad is gr8 for dose who msg a lot..n it has a nice head fone jack..it would be better if u buy n use sony headfones instd of da ones supplied..itz gud with making calls sounds clear n has also got a clarity increasing option wid responds to da environment..which actly works gud..nw abt the multimedia feature...da camera is gud just as any nokia 2mp cams..da music player is just da same as in Xprz musiq cz dese 2 have da verysame features,xpt it dat xprz musiq has more player themes..blv me i had gone through 5130 n drz no diffrnz wid musiq xprnz..n nw da fone rspnzs very fast...its not crispy hanging in da gallery..n its just fine wid installing java apps...have tried many..frndz if u like gaming in mob..no fone works gud as nokia n sony in accptn java apps....in other brands it rarely does work installing java apps..da bttry life is gud 2 aftr all dat use..it give a two day back up....dis fone really is a budget fone wid all dat u want...overall dis rockz.........................n if u r tryng 2 compare wid samsung metro s3310....it may b havng 1million color n 8gb xpandablty,but still it lackz gud audio jack,theme support,application installs,gprs n edge of class32,4x digital zoom,n has no resale value....in da posts i saw dat someone say dat google maps wont work wid 2700...but bro it workz nice in dis..........well m satisfied wid da fone...nw chck urslf..
