this one is bad .... no match for samsung metro , the only point where it scores over the metro ..is that the 2700 has very very good battery
cons
the bundled earphone is bad. gives below standard music........
hurray it has nokia maps .... but it wont work without the coupling of an additional accessory of the nokia gps device which costs additional 5000 rs or 100$
you cant download google maps and install it in your mobile . because it wont work on your s40 device...which is the nokia 2700
90% of the symbian applications wont work on your nokia 2700 , 6303 or 6700 mobile ( they work on only series 60 system).......
so basically u are just stuck with a good looking phone .... take care ..........
bad soft touch keypad ( not durable keypad) ,samsung is 16 m colors nokia only 262000 col , and its key pad seems better
just match the two specifications yu will see the huge diff .......
the size is huge ....... you wont feel like watching any movie in the video player .... due to lack of resolution

the menu systems , organiser and over layout is good you can synchonise outlook ,ovi mail and a lot other applications ..... games are good ... speaker phone bad and muffled
has nokia life tools , i think i bought a farmers phone by mistake ... it has a lot of tools which are extremely helpful to farmers
the ring tones are so low that you cant hear it , if on street or away from handset ...... they have given bad speakers ..... true for its brother 6303.....6700
over all looks 6-7 /10 value for money 6/10
basically a talking phone , the battery really lasts 3-4 days
dont expect much for the samsung metro .......
my suggestion is if you dont mind charging battery every 1-2 days go for samsung metro .... when i went to the mobile store the samsung metro was all sold out , was waiting for a long time finally bought this ,,,
if u dont get the metro in the shop go for lg gm 200
this 2700 one is just for talking ..........

I am planning to buy this phone today...So does it have good music, wen i say this i mean is it a little equivalent to 5130 or 5220 in terms of output..! and is the camera manageable wid 2 MP..please guys help me. cos no other phones have this features in this price range.SO people pleas help wid honest replies..please..

i agree!the clock can't be resize or moved.. but the rest of the features are OK,,, i still like it!

The mobile is good in design, performance etc.....
But some features are missing like you cant the size of clock etc.....

I just picked this phone up today. My first impressions are that its a good size, not too big or too small and fits into my hand nicely. It feels well made with no squeaking and nice well fitted joins. The front face does get a bit finger-printy, but a quick wipe will fix that. The key pad is reasonably comfortable to use after some practice, but it is noticeably noisy (definite clicks) which is good so that you know you have hit the button properly, but bad if you are trying to be stealthy (ie in a meeting).
I can say now that nokia maps does work on the nokia 2700 out of the box (something that has been debated and/or omitted on most review sites) and seems to have my local area maps preloaded into the phone as it was able to bring up a map of my surrounding streets after I typed in my address (I do not have any data download on my prepaid plan so the map could not have been downloaded). Of course without a GPS reciever you can't have voice navigation, but it can plan trips for you, giving you a list of directions that you simply need to follow (much like if you looked up the way on a map and then wrote your instructions down on some paper, but without all the hard work!).
The themes seem pretty standard, with a nice variety of ring tones. The operating system is reasonably responsive and easy to navigate for a first time nokia user. It does lag occasionally when opening programs but nothing too extreme.
The camera is hard to test indoors at night but seems pretty much what you would expect from a 2mp phone camera with no flash or autofocus (no better or worse than the 2mp camera on my previous sony ericsson). The camera is what I expected and I'm therefore happy with it, but this doesn't mean that its awesome. The video recorder is dreadful though. yick.
The music player is quite nice and the sound quality through my cheap mp3 player earphones is pretty good. I'm very happy with it.
My main disappointment is the screen. In comparison to my song ericsson s500i, the screen down right sucks. It has a limited viewing angle (eg if you tilt it even a small amount you lose colour/clarity/contrast and it becomes difficult to read) which is annoying. The sony ericsson's screen was a particularly nice one so I admit I am spoiled, but compared to my partner's nokia 6300, the colours on the 2700 still aren't as bright and clear. I haven't yet tested it in direct sunlight, but I am a little nervous to try!
I can't comment on the battery life yet either, having only had the phone for 6 hours.
Overall, the nokia 2700 is really good value for money. For only $129 Australian, including a 1 GB memory card, you can't really get much better! The mp3 player is great, the 2mp camera is fine (considering the price), nokia maps is very handy and something I wasn't really expecting since it wasn't on the box/in the reviews. Its pretty stylish (in my opinion) and the screen really isn't that bad for the price. If you take it for what it is, a budget phone with a small variety of features done well, then I think you can't really go wrong with the nokia 2700.
please note: The jury is still out on the battery life, outdoors image quality and screen in direct sunlight until further testing is conducted. :D

the data cable is not provided ..... go for ca-101 separately from shop ....
nokia if you are seeingthis ....pplease provide datacable with your phones ......

very good phone , very stylish , weak keypad.
has nokia maps , but i am not sure if you require internet to use it .
i request you to buy it from an authorised showrowromm and not from the local gujju shops as you dont know how
the phone might have been missused , in the past i bought it from a gujju local shop in mumbai , the battery was exchanged and so was the earphone .... when i went back the phone shopkeeper behaved rudely even before i stepped back and put my first step in the shop ..... those morons have duplicate stickers for seals also ..... so dont patronise them go to a proper store such as mobile store or chroma .....
this phone is good awesome display ..... could not find faults with it .... batterry is going on and on for 3 days now :) , compared to only 1.5-2 days for my earlier w580i . music is good 80% as good as sony phones .....looks very stylish ...... has nokia life tools so very good fopr farmers ..... email support , 64 mb ram ..... so can run many applications .... 2gb expandable......very very reliable ........has an option of backing up your contacts to the micro sd card incase you are going to change your phone in the future .you can have a live connection and connect to ovi mail by nokia and download ......if you want exceptional music go for xpress music 5130 or a better camera 6303.....
the camera of this phone is below average and so is the video ..... the camera has no auto focus ...... 6303 has autofocus and 3.2mp camera . but costs 3k more ..... over all i am happy with this phone ......
ps can anyone tell me how to use the nokia maps here ......:)
