Horrible. The worst phone I ever used! It is the DEFINITION of Lag City. And it also has a horrible camera. 5 MP only?!?! An iPhone 5 is better than this piece of crap! Better camera, AND less lag! All that for 2012. And this, came out in 2019, and it sucks. I DO NOT recommend this. DO NOT BUY!!!

idk, 08 Nov 2021I have had this phone since early 2020. It was good at firs... moreSince you've had it since early 2020, that means you might have started with Android 9 on the phone -- possibly 10 (which was released in September, the year before). It is therefore likely that the phone slowed down more and more with every new version of Android. By the time Android 11 was installed, it made the device almost unusable, as you observed. That said, do you really think an even more recent version of Android would have solved the compounding problem of latency that was likely incurred with every new version of Android, prior to 12? I would say, of all the things that are wrong with this device, the fact that it won't run Android 12 is the least problematic.

Avoid at all cost. I used to be a big fan of Nokia -- other than the insufficient amount of RAM, the N900 with its physical slide-out keypad, running Maemo (a Debian Linux variant) was among the most notable phones I ever owned. But ever since the Nokia communication division was gutted and sold out by a Microsoft insider (which subsequently went on to buy the division for pennies on the dollar), what remains of the name "Nokia" is a sordid shadow of its former self. There are two factors that make this device utterly inadequate as a smartphone:
1. As many have noted, it is slow. The thing is, it's hard to convey in words just how comprehensively slow this phone is, in every conceivable way. It's even more difficult to properly convey why this makes it utterly unusable, regardless of whether it's your first or your last phone. Let me therefore just say this: there is a latency threshold beyond which a device doesn't merely appear very slow, but beyond which it can no longer actually be operated. That is because, especially when it comes to portables, screen interactions are usually overloaded in the sense that tapping the screen briefly is interpreted differently than holding the finger in place for an extended period. Conversely, beyond a given latency and the randomness in delay that usually accompanies it, it becomes impossible to anticipate phone behavior. You become unsure as to whether your tap registered, then tap again -- only to find that now this registers as two taps in a row, etc. Needless to say, this carries with it an enormous degree of user frustration. I tried unloading all apps, but it makes very little / insufficient difference. I suppose you could try not upgrading the phone (if that's even possible), but I cannot say whether that would even make a difference (in my case, this phone has always been slow -- although I admit, I cannot remember whether in the beginning it was as slow to the point of uselessness as it is now). In summary: regarding performance, I can only recommend this device to someone who is addicted to their cell phone and wants something so off-putting and irksome that it will help them kick their habit. Please believe me when I say: should you find yourself in possession of it, you will curse this phone every time you try to use it. It is so unrealistically slow that you can't even use it merely as just a "dumb" phone: if a call comes in, the cumulative delays from the screen coming on, the screen flipping from portrait to landscape, then back, the delay due to security, and anything I have missed -- all these delays add up to enough time wasted that, together with the initial delay of pulling out the phone after it rang, chances are the call will be over by the time you are in the position to "pick up." Also, in my case, for some reason my calls no longer even go through. I get incoming calls and occasionally I can make a call. And even rebooting doesn't help with this.
2. The screen format (19:9) makes it unsuitable for a number of things. Forget watching most movies (and anything made for TV in the last 15 years) full-screen: Either you're going to see black boxes on the right and left, or (if this even possible) parts of the content will be cut off at the top and bottom. I suppose it's possible to stretch the content to fill the screen -- in which case everything will look stretched horizontally (i.e. making everything look "fat"). The screen is also not suitable for reading comics (too narrow in portrait; too short in landscape) and probably not suitable for reading even just text -- again, due to the screen being too narrow in portrait. I actually looked into the Helio A22 processor, to find out why this thing is so miserably, excruciatingly slow. I could only find out that it is generally known to be a decent, low-end processor. Anyways, I implore you to avoid at all cost. This isn't a low-end, starter/introductory device -- unless the objective is to impress a healthy dose of antipathy when it comes to portable devices.

I have had this phone since early 2020. It was good at first, but has gotten progressively slower and more glitchy since then, now close to loosing usability. Now it isn't even getting Android 12 which I was so excited for. Do not buy this phone!

I bought this phone in June 2020, and it was the perfect phone - great battery, fast enough for what I need, and decent storage. However, since I updated to Android 11 it has been so slow that I cannot take calls without restarting the phone (by which time I have missed the call), and it takes 2 minutes to load the camera and take a photo. The phone has become unusable. If you buy this phone, I recommend not updating it from the Android 9 it comes with, until Android 12 comes out (which sounds like it will be better), as this seems to be an across the board problem with the Nokia 2.3
I am super disappointed as I loved this phone, but the Android 11 update killed it.
In summary: great phone, but don't update it to Android 11 or you won't be able to use it.

Does the job well. A phone with access to the internet for email and maps. And a damn fine camera as a bonus if you are silly enough to take your phone on holiday with you. Beware - it also plays YouTube videos so don't let the kids find out.
