I bought this model 4 days back and and i am very rare user of mobile and hardly used it for about 30 mints and next day I noted Dis ply problem confirmed by Nokia service engineer in new piece and I changed for the another one and that also once in a while disply screen become white all of sudden with vibration for long time .So, I am not sure, I can depend on this phone and I will see that , if the problem again start, I will take this matter to Consumer court.

The sound is better using Sony. The result may be different if you compare Nokia 301 and Iphone 5s, for example. I am not sure: Nokia 301 itself will change the sounds quality.
The battery of Nokia 301 is so so (so good so bad). I charge it once in 3 days. I use always call and text every minutes everyday; surf the net occasionally.

nigel, 14 Jan 2014hmm...from my opinion,it is wise to choose far more older p... morewhat about the sound quality , I will be using a very high quality earphones , does the phone change the quality , I mean have you tried the same earphones for different phones and get the same result , also about battery life ( especially music playback time ) and how often do you use and charge your phone

AnonD-201872, 14 Jan 2014if I am to buy a phone mainly for music playback and as a s... moreI think it depends on the brand of earphone or speaker. The phone is only a player. If you use iphone 5S but you use cheap earphone, the sound won't be so good/even worse hear by your ears.
Nokia 301 is only very good basic phone (if I cannot say the best). Don't expect it as smartphone, so I think it cannot read PDF. Correct me if am wrong.
If you have old Nokia basic phone, I suggest not to buy this one. Buy this one, if your old phone is broken or you are bored.

Between nokia 301 and asha 501,asha has wifi ( if you internet lover choose asha )but if u want something 'classic' choose 301..i personally pick 301 because for this past years i've used alot 'touchscreen' or 'slate' and it also brings childhood memory by using candybar :D

if I am to buy a phone mainly for music playback and as a secondary phone , should I buy the Nokia 301 or the Nokia Asha 501 , note that I already have an old 2010 classic phone similar to the 301 in specs but I kind of get bored from this old phone and I have an android smartphone so the Asha being a touchscreen phone is not a wow factor for me , I am only asking which is better in terms of sound quality using headphones ( iLuv headphones ) , music playback time and general experiences. I want it to stay solid and firm no matter how many times I remove the back cover and lasts for years , also want to know if the Asha 210 is better than the 301 ???

My nokia doesnt show any symbol when i m in roaming, is there somw setting for this or this is a prblm with this handset?

More Info:
+ It can be connected easily with any laptop via USB cable data. Transferring pictures/songs/data (NO need Nokia 301 driver) or using it as modem on the go (for this, you need Nokia 301 driver installed) is easier than before.
+ The battery is charged via USB so I can use my Blackberry one to charge Nokia 301

Just bought on Jan,5 2014.
+ Recommended for any who want just a simple TYPE phone with 3,5G (sim 1 only). I decided to have one because I feel I can phone/text/surf/even email quickly by using TYPE phone rather tahn TOUCH phone. I use it often while driving :-))
+ The Design. Although it duplicates the Lumia design, it fits. Simple yet Professional.
+/- The Hardware and The Software. It's similar with other basic Nokia phones. Not so much different, you can notice. It can be + or - thou.
- The material of phone, plastic. I have no comment. I suggest that Nokia should use little bit high plastic quality as Nokia 301 is a bit expensive. What make me disappointed is only the plastic covering the lens.

Can anyone tell me whether you can increase the font menu. You have to select the phone to my dad and I need something with big letters on the menu, phonebook, etc.

I Purchased nokia 301 on 14/11/2013.I visited nokia care centre 8 times and submitted my phone 2 times. Blank screen(White) is a huge problem in this phone. nokia is not replacing my phone. now I think about a legal action against nokia.Nokia is now third class company in phone market.

Anon, 06 Jan 2014seriously people go for C2-01 much better and can use ovi s... morec2-01 is already phased-out my friend...so u got no choice but to opt for 301, 208, 207 or 206 or the incoming 515!
